[Abstract]:Objective to analyze the understanding and acceptance of genetic counseling and genetic detection among relatives of breast cancer patients. Methods 992 patients with breast cancer were investigated by blood relatives. The data were classified and statistically analyzed according to age, family income, educational background and family history. Results most of the relatives of breast cancer who completed the survey did not know about genetic counseling and genetic testing. However, after simple education, most of the respondents were willing to receive genetic advice and participate in risk assessment. 79.8% of the subjects were willing to be tested and 62.3% were willing to participate in the process of gene testing. Most of the subjects were able to accept the initial screening of cheap genes, while only 37.9% of the subjects were able to accept the higher price of genetic tests. Assuming positive gene test, most of the subjects were willing to undergo close follow-up screening for prevention, and 31.3% of the subjects preferred preventive surgery or medication. Although the results were kept confidential, 32.9% of the respondents were worried about the adverse effects. Conclusion most of the relatives of breast cancer patients do not understand but have a clear willingness to accept genetic counseling and genetic testing. The misunderstandings about genetic characteristics of breast cancer, the cost and the fear of discrimination is that the adjuster receives genetic counseling. Major barriers to genetic testing and related preventive screening.
