【摘要】：长城是中国古代历史上的伟大创举,春秋战国长城则是中国古代长城史的开端。春秋战国长城总的来说,经历了一个从初始、发展再到高潮的发展过程。长城是一个综合性问题,它涉及到军事、建筑、经济、民族关系以及历史地理学等各个方面的内容。本文侧重从历史地理学角度对春秋战国时期各诸侯国所修筑的长城本身及其部分相关防御设施的时空特征进行分析和研究。春秋战国长城与当时各诸侯国战争发生时间、地点之间有着密切的关系。从时间上来说,春秋战国长城史的发展从公元前七世纪一直持续到公元前三世纪,约四百年的时间,其中公元前360年——公元前300年左右是一个修筑长城的高潮时期,长城修筑的高潮与战争的高潮呈交替出现,并且战国时期所筑长城远多于春秋时期。在空间上,春秋战国时期各诸侯国修筑的长城从南部及东部的周边地区也就是楚国、齐国起源,随着时间的推移逐渐向中原地带及北方地区扩展,也就是说在空间上经历了一个大致由东南向西北推移的过程。此外,春秋战国时期长城多依山、河等险要地形而建,多在各诸侯国的边界沿线。长城经由地区一般战争多发,并且多在河流沿线分布。春秋战国长城的修筑最主要目的是军事防御,它为后代的军事学理论提供了借鉴,为社会文化增添了新的色彩。
