[Abstract]:The American Civil War, which focused on the abolition of slavery, was a famous war in the history of the United States. From its outbreak to today, the academic circles always hold great concern and research enthusiasm for the Civil War, and the historical research results about the Civil War are also quite rich. But it's worth noting that in the last century and a half of all kinds of research, most of the texts that tell and write about this history have given white European immigrants and other minorities their participation in the Civil War. For example, the role played by the American Indians in the Civil War and their role in advancing American history were often ignored by historians. In fact, the Indians were important participants in the Civil War and influenced the course of the war. And made an indelible contribution to the historical development of the United States. Based on the analysis of the historical data and the published books, this paper studies the role, contribution and influence of the Indians in the Civil War. In the theoretical support, this paper will adopt the "new race" theory to regard the Indians as an independent force in the process of American history, and to study the important forces that play a constructive role in American history. In the past, European immigrants were regarded as the only important driving force for the development of the United States. The other minorities, however, are merely historical vassals of the Anglo-Saxon hegemonic cultural arguments that question and refute them by studying the participation of the Indians in the Civil War and their impact on the war. This paper hopes to reshape the image of Indians as one of the protagonists in American history, thus providing a new perspective for the study of the American Civil War and a reference for the study of the history of American minorities.
