[Abstract]:The United States is a country famous for its immigration. It was built by immigrants, and it thrived on immigration. Since the founding of the United States more than 200 years ago, during the influx of immigrants. Initially mainly from western northern Europe, then southeastern Europeans, Asians, Hispanics and so on have poured in. Asians, like other immigrants, have made important contributions to the development of the United States. Asian groups, especially the Chinese, the Japanese have made remarkable achievements. The reason why the author chose the scope of the discussion in California is that California immigrants have certain typicality and representativeness, and the remarkable characteristic of California lies in its diversity. And when the Chinese and Japanese first entered the United States, the vast majority lived in California. The main body of this paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction, which involves literature review, research methods and innovations at home and abroad. The second part is the text. It is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter briefly introduces the natural situation of California and the reasons for immigrating to California, the second chapter focuses on the economic situation of the Chinese and Japanese in California, mainly from the aspects of population size, living mode, occupation type and so on. The third chapter focuses on the social status of the Chinese and Japanese, mainly related to the anti-Chinese, anti-Japanese reasons, the process, the impact and their resistance to the struggle. Chapter four: discuss the contribution of Chinese and Japanese to the economic and social development of California. The third part is the conclusion. On the one hand, I try to grasp the general situation of the early Chinese and Japanese immigrants in California, and understand their tortuous experiences in foreign countries; on the other hand, I try to reveal as many Chinese as possible. This paper discusses the commonness and individuality among Japanese immigrants, analyzes the reasons leading to their different economic and social status, discusses their contributions to the early development of California, and probes into the enlightening significance of the early Asian immigrants of California to the present society.
