[Abstract]:Bulgarian (including Baogar and Slavic) and Byzantine Empire contact nearly millennia, the relationship between the two countries complex and volatile. Before Bulgaria was founded, Byzantium and the Gupogarns were allied or warlike. After the founding of the Republic, the two sides fought for hegemony in the Balkans. After Boris I, king of Bulgaria, accepted Christianity from Byzantium in the mid-19th century, Byzantine culture was introduced to Bulgaria with Christianity. It permeates all aspects of Bulgarian social life. Bulgaria has created a unique Bulgarian civilization while absorbing Byzantine civilization and combining its local characteristics. Bulgaria also became an intermediary for the spread of Byzantium civilization through Bulgaria to neighboring Russia, Serbia, Romania and other countries. This paper focuses on the relationship between Bulgaria and Byzantium in the 5th and 10th centuries. This includes the relations between the two countries before the founding of the first Bulgarian Kingdom and the existence of the first Bulgarian Kingdom and the influence of Byzantine civilization on Bulgarian society during the first Bulgarian Kingdom. This paper is divided into three parts: the first part mainly discusses the early relations between ancient Bulgaria and Byzantium in the 5th to 7th century, including the analysis of the ethnic origin of the ancient Baogal. The initial communication between the Gubogal and Byzantium in Europe and the close and friendly relationship with Byzantium during the ancient "Greater Bulgaria" alliance. In the second part, the relationship between Bulgaria and Byzantium in the early period of the first Bulgarian Foundation and in the late period of the first Bulgarian Kingdom is discussed. In the early days of the establishment of the first Kingdom of Bulgaria, Bulgarian Kohantelville helped Byzantine Emperor Justinian II to restore the throne, which made relations between the two countries extremely close; by the time of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine V, The two countries once again fell into hostile relations; during the period of Khankrum, Bulgaria was strong in national strength, and Bulgaria wantonly carried out military expansion. The relationship between Bulgaria and Byzantium was extremely tense. The 9-10 century was an important period in which Bulgarian relations with Byzantium shifted from cold winter to warm spring. The acceptance of Byzantine Christianity by Khan Boris I in Bulgaria brought Bulgaria and Byzantium into a period of decades of peaceful interaction. Afterwards, the Bulgarian Sheimiao the Great wanted to dominate the Balkans and fought with the Byzantium Empire all the year round. Finally, the Byzantines by the hands of the Roth destroyed the first Kingdom of Bulgaria, its territory became a province of the Byzantine Empire. The third part discusses the relationship between the Kingdom of Bulgaria and Byzantium from the perspective of the influence of Byzantium civilization on Bulgarian society. This part describes the level of Byzantium civilization before its introduction into Bulgaria and the way and carrier of Byzantium civilization into the Kingdom of Bulgaria. Bulgarian society created the Bulgarian civilization with local characteristics on the basis of absorbing and imitating Byzantium civilization. Bulgarian society also developed resistance to Byzantine civilization, the famous Bogomil movement. Byzantine civilization is the enlightenment of Bulgarian civilization and the source of Bulgarian civilization. Bulgaria, as the intermediary of Byzantine civilization, spread Byzantium civilization to its periphery.
