[Abstract]:Like many other countries, Samoa has undergone many changes in cultural fields, including language. One of the more controversial claims is that these changes began during the colonial period of Germany and New Zealand and lasted until Samoa's independence in 1962, which lasted for nearly 40 years and had a significant impact on Samoan culture. In addition, Samoa's contact with the outside world dates back to 1830, when the first Christian missionaries from London arrived in Samoa. By the end of the 21 st century, people of all colors, white, Asian, and mixed-race Samoans were already living on Samoa Island. Samoa is changing in various ways, including the nuclear-family view of society. The main core of the Samoan family is religion. Interracial marriages have now begun, with immigrants bringing Samoans around the world. This paper focuses on the changes in Samoan culture, focusing on the family and marriage. The paper also aims to introduce these changes, explain their sources and explain the causes of these changes. In view of this, this paper compares the current and past situation of Samoan families. Considering that the family is an important component of social change, we can look at the development of Samoan society by studying the changes in the Samoan family. This thesis consists of five chapters, including the preface. The first chapter mainly introduces the country profile of Samoa, covering the history, geography and regional and economic characteristics of Samoa. Second, the third chapter focuses on the changes that Samoa has experienced, including the family and marriage in Samoa. The fourth chapter is an analysis of the impact of these changes on families, involving (1) family economic production (2) socialization of children (3) care for the elderly, sick and disabled (4) sexual control (5) reproductive reproduction. The last chapter summarizes the first four chapters, summarizes the author's views and expounds the significance of this paper to China and the world.
