黄乃裳:一个清末基督教知识分子的报业情怀

【摘要】：作为清末的中国基督教知识分子,黄乃裳的成长道路异于常人,而其知识结构、眼界及思想与传统士人也有所不同。他视办报为开通民智、改变国势积弱状况的"治标之计",一生曾6次办报。黄乃裳在前半生期盼能以基督教这一普世性信仰,促进中国的文明进步与社会改良,但在社会剧变的强烈冲击下,人生中诸多不期而至的际遇,促使他渐被激荡的社会大潮所牵引,从传播福音、阐扬教义转而热衷国事、革固鼎新甚至引领潮流,对谋求国家与民族的强大展示着"忍不住的关怀"。从最初的基督教知识分子的社会角色开始,他先后演变为维新人士、革命党人,其思想嬗变的历程与其前4次报业生涯息息相关。黄乃裳身在教会而为潮流所牵引的思想经历,正是清末趋新知识人在"数千年未有之变局"进程中的一种侧面写照,也展现了当时许多知识人的人生面相。
