《弘明集》“援易论佛”研究

【摘要】:《弘明集》是辑录东汉至魏晋时期佛教学者与儒道知识分子论争的文集。该文集收录的文章为当时的思想界知识分子所著,辞藻华丽、引经据典,具有较高的文献价值。《弘明集》所辑之文涵盖广泛,多篇文献涉及《周易》,其主流是佛教学者对《周易》及易学的援引,具有佛学与易学会通的意义,属于“以易解佛”的范畴。而其援引,具备合历史与合逻辑的特点。按历史与逻辑相结合的原则,可分为两类。第一类援引为“借易论佛”,是形式上的引用。《牟子理惑论》引《乾凿度》宇宙衍生之说,具有本体论的意义。罗含《更生论》利用“备其极”来表明天地万物一体,进而表明人死会复生,因其论证单一乏力,而终未引起关注。何承天以“三才同体”而圣众有分与颜延之“大德曰生”而众生平等的辩论,虽其用《易》更为深入,论点亦不再浅显,但因其所论内容与方式的特点,依然是中土式的辩论。第二类则为“融合佛易”,融会与发挥并举,具有佛学史与易学史的双重意义。慧远为证解神之不灭,对“神”的内涵进行了改造,并使其具备佛教特色的“冥传之功”。于佛教而言,轮回报应的主体得以建立;于易学而言,“神”具有了宗教式的轮回报应意义。宗炳的《明佛论》在慧远的基础上,扩展了“神”的内涵;又利用《易传》“神道设教”之说,将轮回报应之“神”,归入了中国哲学最高范畴的“道”。从佛教史的角度看,《弘明集》的“援易论佛”是初传佛教对《周易》的“格义”。这种援引,有利于佛教的传播,影响了佛教中国化的方向;同时,也丰富对《周易》的阐释,成为易学的一部分。这也表明,易学思想为佛教融入中国文化,提供了理论桥梁。
[Abstract]:Hongming Ji is a collection of the debates between Buddhist scholars and Confucian and Taoist intellectuals from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Wei and Jin dynasties. The articles included in the anthology were written by intellectuals in the intellectual circles of the time. They were rich in rhetoric, cited the classics, and had a higher literature value. The articles collected in Hong Ming Ji covered a wide range of articles, and many of them related to the Book of changes. The main stream of Buddhism is the quotation of the Book of changes and the Book of changes by Buddhist scholars, which has the meaning of understanding Buddhism and Yi, and belongs to the category of "understanding Buddhism with ease". And its invocation, with the characteristics of historical and logical. According to the principle of the combination of history and logic, it can be divided into two categories. The first category is quoted as "on Buddhism by changing", which is a formal citation. "Mou Zi-li 's theory of confusion" refers to the theory of cosmic derivation of "dry-chiseling", which has the meaning of ontology. Luo Ham's Theory of Casanology uses "preparing its poles" to show that all things are one, and then indicates that death will come back to life, because of its lack of proof, it has not attracted much attention at the end of the day. Edward Ho's argument of "three talents in the same body" and Yan Yanzhi's "the great virtue of living" and the equality of all living beings, though its use of Yi > is deeper, its argument is no longer simple, but because of the characteristics of its contents and methods, it is still a debate of the Chinese and indigenous style. The second kind is the combination of Buddhism and Yi, which has the dual significance of Buddhism history and Yi study history. Huiyuan proved the inextinguishment of God, transformed the connotation of "God" and made it have Buddhist characteristics. In Buddhism, the subject of retribution of reincarnation can be established; in the study of Yi, God has the meaning of religious retribution. Zong Bing's "Ming Buddha Theory" extends the connotation of "God" on the basis of Huiyuan, and makes use of the "Shinto way" theory of "Yi Zhuan" to classify the retribution of reincarnation as "Tao" in the highest category of Chinese philosophy. From the point of view of Buddhist history, the "aid on Buddhism" in Hong Ming Ji is the first Buddhism's "GE Yi" to the Book of changes. This kind of quotation is beneficial to the spread of Buddhism and influences the direction of Buddhism in China. At the same time, it also enriches the interpretation of the Book of changes and becomes a part of the study of the Book of changes. It also shows that the Yi thought provides a theoretical bridge for Buddhism to integrate into Chinese culture.
