“内容—距离—行为”整合的企业创新搜索双元平衡策略研究

【摘要】:新的创新环境下,精益、敏捷的创新需求与企业创新资源有限之问的矛盾日渐凸显,创新搜索作为破解矛盾的显性途径倍受重视。然而,创新搜索涉及诸多对创新而言不可或缺但行为逻辑却截然不同甚至相反的任务,过度关注一方而偏废其它易使企业落入创新“陷阱”继而损害创新绩效。由此,创新搜索平衡命题开始纳入管理者与学者视野。其中,借鉴组织双元性思想以实现创新搜索平衡的观点获得大量实践与理论支持。但是,现有研究极少以多维整合视角来刻画创新搜索从而难以形成完整的双元平衡策略;普遍缺失双元治理的“适应性判定”因而抑制了双元平衡策略制定的规范性与科学性;对创新搜索双元平衡策略发挥作用的协同机理挖掘不足,对影响创新搜索双元平衡策略绩效效果的组织内外部权变因素关注不足,由此阻碍创新搜索双元平衡“黑箱”的开启。在此背景下,本文围绕“企业如何在多维层面上实现创新搜索双元平衡以改进创新绩效”这一基本命题,逐层递进研究四个子问题:(1)如何以多个维度来共同刻画创新搜索?(2)如何在多维层面科学、合理地构建更为完整的企业创新搜索双元平衡策略?(3)这些创新搜索双元平衡策略作用于创新绩效的机理与结果是怎样的?(4)竞争强度、行业增长(组织外部市场环境)以及情境分离(组织内部员工能力)对上述作用机理与结果有何影响?对此,本文结合规范研究与实证研究展开分析。子问题一,基于企业创新搜索的行为逻辑和组织注意力理论,找到企业创新搜索决策的关键问题,每一关键问题与一个维度对应从而提炼出创新搜索多个维度。子问题二,基于组织双元性管理范式,先在多维层面识别企业面临的竞争性搜索任务,后对其进行双元治理的适用性判定,对通过判定的竞争性搜索任务相应做出双元平衡策略安排。子问题三,通过文献研究与理论推演,提出各类型创新搜索双元平衡策略作用于企业创新绩效的研究假设并予以实证检验。子问题四则在子问题三的基础上,引入竞争强度、行业增长及情境分离作为调节变量,同样经文献研究与理论推演,提出相应假设并予以实证检验。本文实证检验数据来自275家中国企业的问卷调研,运用题项得分相关系数法、AVE值与CR值、竞争模型比较法等检验量表信度与效度,采用相关系数法、Harman单因素法检验共同方法偏差,采用层次回归分析法验证所提假设。本研究的主要结论如下:第一、创新搜索可用“内容-距离-行为”三个维度来刻画,它们契合组织创新搜索的行为逻辑且分别呼应着组织注意力决策中的三个关键问题:“搜索什么知识——到哪里搜索目标知识——如何搜索目标知识”。创新搜索三维构念的提出突破了单维和二维划分,拓展了创新搜索理论的研究视角与维度内涵。第二、按照组织双元性管理范式的三个程序化环节,发现在创新搜索“内容-距离-行为”三维构念下,企业面临两组竞争性搜索任务,即:市场知识搜索与技术知识搜索、宽度搜索与深度搜索。对其双元治理兼具战略重要性与兼容性,具体的双元平衡策略有三大类共六种:第一类、搜索内容相同的宽度搜索与深度搜索双元平衡策略,涵盖市场知识宽度与深度搜索双元平衡、技术知识宽度与深度搜索双元平衡;第二类、完全宽度或深度搜索下市场知识与技术知识搜索双元平衡策略,包括市场知识宽度搜索与技术知识宽度搜索双元平衡、市场知识深度搜索与技术知识深度搜索双元平衡;第三类、搜索内容不同时,宽度搜索与深度搜索交叉双元平衡策略,包括市场知识宽度搜索与技术知识深度搜索双元平衡、市场知识深度搜索与技术知识宽度搜索双元平衡。此部分研究填补了双元治理适应性判定的缺失,规范了组织双元性理论的应用研究。第三、三类创新搜索双元平衡策略作用于创新绩效的机理与效果具有差异。第一类策略因“概念协同”正向影响且比单一搜索策略更显著地提升企业创新绩效;第二类策略虽可发挥“供需协同”,但其实质仍是单一地宽度搜索或深度搜索,易引致创新陷阱,因而未能显著改进创新绩效,甚至完全深度搜索会损害创新绩效;第三类策略因为“概念协同”与“供需协同”耦合作用,对企业创新绩效有显著正向影响且比单一创新搜索策略以及其他两类双元平衡策略更显著地提升企业创新绩效。此部分研究探析了创新搜索双元平衡影响企业创新绩效的“黑箱”,深化了创新搜索平衡问题的研究。第四、竞争强度、行业增长与情境分离在创新搜索双元平衡影响创新绩效的作用机制中发挥不同的调节效应。竞争强度越大,第一与第三类策略对创新绩效的正向作用越大;第二类策略中的完全宽度搜索对创新绩效的正向作用越大,而完全深度搜索对创新绩效的负向作用越大。行业增长越高,第一与第三类策略对企业创新绩效的正向影响越小;完全深度搜索对创新绩效的负向影响作用越小。情境分离水平越高,第一与第三类策略对创新绩效的正向影响越大,完全深度搜索对创新绩效的负向影响作用越小。
[Abstract]:In the new innovation environment, the contradiction between lean, agile innovation demand and the limited resources of enterprise innovation is becoming more and more obvious. Innovation search is regarded as the dominant way to solve the contradiction. However, innovation search involves many tasks which are indispensable to innovation but have different or even opposite behavior logic. It is easy to make the enterprise fall into the innovation "trap" and then damage the innovation performance. Therefore, the innovation search balance proposition begins to be included in the managers and the scholars' vision. Innovative search makes it difficult to form a complete dual balance strategy, and the universally missing dual governance "adaptive decision" inhibits the normalization and scientificity of the dual balance strategy, and the synergistic mechanism of the innovative search dual balance strategy is insufficient and the performance effect of the dual balance strategy for the search innovation is achieved. The internal and external contingency factors are not concerned, which hinders the opening of the "black box" in the dual balance of innovation search. In this context, this paper focuses on the basic proposition of "how enterprises realize the dual balance of innovation search in multidimensional level to improve innovation performance", and studies the four sub problems by layer by layer: (1) how to use multiple dimensions Co depicting innovation search? (2) how to construct a more complete and more complete dual balance strategy of enterprise innovation search at a multidimensional level? (3) what are the mechanisms and results of these innovative search dual balance strategies on innovation performance? (4) competition intensity, industrial growth (external market environment) and situational separation (internal organization) What is the impact of employee ability on the mechanism and results of the above action? This paper analyzes the problems of the normative and empirical research. First, based on the behavioral logic and organizational attention theory of enterprise innovation search, the key problems of enterprise innovation search decision are found. Search multiple dimensions. Sub problem two. Based on the organizational dual management paradigm, the competitive search task facing the enterprise is first identified in the multidimensional level. Then, the applicability determination of the dual governance is carried out. The dual balance strategy is made for the competitive search task by the decision. The sub problem three, through literature research and theoretical deduction, is proposed. On the basis of the sub problem three, four sub problems are introduced to the research hypothesis and the empirical test. On the basis of the sub problem three, the sub problem introduces the competition intensity, the industry growth and the situation separation as the adjustment variable, and the corresponding hypothesis and the empirical test are put forward by the literature research and theoretical deduction. The empirical test data from 275 Chinese enterprises questionnaire survey, using item score correlation coefficient method, AVE value and CR value, competition model comparison test scale reliability and validity, the correlation coefficient method, Harman single factor method test common method deviation, using the hierarchical regression analysis to verify the hypothesis. The main conclusions of this study are as follows First, innovative search can be described by three dimensions of "content distance behavior". They fit the behavioral logic of organizational innovation search and respond to the three key problems in organizing attention decision: "search what knowledge - where to search for target knowledge - how to search target knowledge". Second, according to the three procedural links of the organizational dual management paradigm, it is found that the enterprise is faced with two groups of competitive search tasks, namely, market knowledge search and technology, under the three procedural links of the organizational dual management paradigm. Operation knowledge search, width search and depth search. It has strategic importance and compatibility for its dual governance. There are three categories of specific dual balance strategies: the first class, the same width search and depth search dual balance strategy, covering the market knowledge width and depth search dual balance, and the technical knowledge width and the breadth of knowledge. Deep search dual balance; the second class, full width or depth search for market knowledge and technical knowledge search dual balance strategy, including market knowledge width search and technical knowledge width search dual balance, market knowledge depth search and technical knowledge depth search double balance; the third category, search content is different, width search. And depth search cross dual balance strategy, including market knowledge breadth search and technical knowledge depth search dual balance, market knowledge depth search and technical knowledge width search dual balance. This part of the study fills the lack of dual governance adaptability decision, standardizes the application of the third, third types of fabric theory. The mechanism and effect of the new search dual balance strategy on the innovation performance are different. The first kind of strategy has a positive effect on the "concept synergy" and is more significant to improve the enterprise innovation performance than the single search strategy. The second strategy can play a "supply and demand synergy", but its essence is still a single width search or deep search, easy to introduce. Innovation traps can not significantly improve innovation performance, and even complete depth search will damage innovation performance. The third strategy has a significant positive impact on enterprise innovation performance because of the coupling effect of "concept synergy" and "supply and demand synergy", which is more significant than the single innovation search strategy and the other two types of dual balance strategies. This part studies the "black box" that the innovative search dual balance affects the enterprise innovation performance, and deepens the research on the problem of innovation search balance. Fourth, competition intensity, industry growth and situation separation play different regulatory effects in the mechanism of innovative search dual balance affecting innovation performance. The greater the intensity, the greater the positive effect of the first and third strategies on the innovation performance; the greater the positive effect of the full width search on the innovation performance in the second strategies, and the greater the negative effect of the complete depth search on the innovation performance. The higher the industry growth, the smaller the positive effect of the first and third strategies on the enterprise innovation performance. The more negative impact of full depth search has on the negative impact of innovation performance, the higher the level of situation separation, the greater the positive impact of the first and third strategies on innovation performance, and the smaller the negative impact of full depth search on innovation performance.
