【摘要】:21世纪伊始,《古墓丽影》作为好莱坞第一部由电子游戏改编的大制作影片上映,开启了新千年“电子游戏改编电影”的大门。虽然早在20世纪80年代就有电子游戏被改编成电影,但其影响力远远不能与《古墓丽影》相比。在数字技术的支持下,“电子游戏改编电影”不断完善自己的制片机制与改编方式,逐渐跟随着新好莱坞的变革大潮走进数字好莱坞这个全新的语境。 “电子游戏改编电影”的出现并不是简单的巧合。从经济上出发,电子游戏公司进入电影领域将是一种游戏与电影的利益双赢。索尼借助自己庞大产业的触角,将曾经在游戏产业与自己合作的CAPCOM公司研发的电子游戏《生化危机》成功改编成系列电影,不仅给索尼带来了巨大的利润,同时也是通过电影让更多受众了解了这款游戏。EA游戏公司通过与梦工厂的合作将自己最受欢迎的游戏作品《极品飞车》改编为电影且在近期上映,而该公司也作为制片方出现在电影播放前,这将是它进军好莱坞电影领域的第一步。电子游戏的制作逐渐呈现出“艺术”的属性,作为具有包容性特征的电影自然可以和当下的电子游戏进行深度结合。无论是电子游戏或是电影,如今这两者的制作都离不开数字技术,数字技术的飞速发展恰好加速了它们的合作。可以说“电子游戏改编电影”是结合经济、艺术、技术三点特征应运而生。 距离“电子游戏改编电影”在好莱坞正式亮相以来已有14年,影片如《无敌破坏王》、《马克思·佩恩》、《杀手47》等约有二十余部,在数量上已经形成了一定的集群。依照这一现象而言“电子游戏改编电影”应该成为新好莱坞超常规类型中新的电影类型。可遗憾的是“电子游戏改编电影”至今仍然存在着许多尚未解决的难题,这些难题则是该类影片无法成为电影类型的原因之一。“电子游戏改编电影”并没有形成一段时间的主打周期,它的票房成绩起伏波动巨大,总是在失败与成功之间徘徊不定。虽然“电子游戏改编电影”从表面而言已经完成了自己的美学自足,可这完全依托于它建立在其他电影类型的前提之下,也就是说“电子游戏改编电影”并没有真正意义上成为一种新的电影类型,至今为止只能说是好莱坞中的一种电影现象。 随着数字技术和电子游戏的发展,依托于两者的“电子游戏改编电影”不会只是好莱坞的一种电影现象,好莱坞依然在通过制作新的“电子游戏改编电影”去发现和探索新的类型建构之路,并期望它成为数字好莱坞的新兴价值。
