英国政府1979年以来的电影政策

英国电影对于世界电影工业和文化都有着巨大影响。众多历史上票房最高的电影都是在英国摄制的,如哈利·波特和英国特工007系列电影。本论文主要回答两个问题:第一,为什么英国政府要支持电影产业?第二,为什么国家支持对于电影产业来说是至关重要的?本论文的创新之处在于,多数关于英国电影的研究集中于特定的影片,电影导演或某个电影流派,很少有研究电影产业和政府的电影政策,而本论文从多种来源如英国政府部门官方网站和英国电影学会收集一手数据和文件,并用它们来分析英国电影政策在过去四十年里的长期发展走向。自早期二十世纪三十年代到二十一世纪,对于英国电影产业来说,核心问题一直是如何与好莱坞电影工业共存。许多英国电影生产都依赖于好莱坞的资金支持。英国电影的发行和展映市场也被好莱坞公司所控制。政府扶持对于英国电影工业来说至关重要,主要原因有两个。第一,英国电影工业一直被好莱坞所垄断,英国制片人很难找到电影的发行商。许多电影即便已经制作完成但也从未上映。第二,同好莱坞发展完善的电影工业比,英国的电影生产还处于小作坊式经营。电影从开始拍摄就很难筹集到资金。因此没有了政府干预,对于低成本的英国国产片来说,同好莱坞票房大...
