中美大学生纠正言语行为对比分析

【摘要】：纠正言语行为，与主张合作、维持礼貌的社会目标相反，本质上是一种面子威胁行为。本文从礼貌以及跨文化交际的角度出发，研究中美大学生关于纠正策略的选择和使用倾向。 调查采用口语语篇填充测试问卷的形式，，共十个问题，包含了社会变量如社会距离、社会地位、行为的难易程度，个人变量如性别、年龄。在参与本次调查的60名受试者中，有三十名中国籍汉语母语者，以及三十名美籍英语母语者，均为年龄在十八到三十岁之间的在校大学生。 在参与者的所有回答中，作者归纳了二十一种纠正策略，分为四种直接纠正策略，十六种间接纠正策略，以及一种不作为策略。结果表明两种语言之间的纠正策略既存在着共性也存在差异。第一，在两种语言中，纠正言语行为均一般由起始语、中心行为语、辅助说明语组成，其中中心行为语为不可缺少部分。第二，中美大学生均大规模采用了间接纠正言语行为以及表示质疑、解释和缓和语气的策略。美大学生使用间接策略的频率高于中国大学生。第三，社会因素如社会距离、社会权利、行为的难易程度以及个人因素如性别、年龄都对纠正策略的选择有影响。其中，社会距离，社会权利对美国大学生影响更大，而性别差异对中国大学生影响更大。 这些特点展现了纠正言语行为的特征，也部分支持了文化变异的论点。
