关联理论视角下无关联交际的语篇连贯机制研究

【摘要】：一个旨在解释各种交际现象的交际理论不但应能够解释成功的交际,而且应能够解释由各种原因所引起的失败的交际。本文把由各种原因造成的无效交际,确切的说应是无效关联交际,称之为无关联交际。根据关联理论,交际双方认知语境的不同是导致交际失败的重要原因。基于以上两点,本文拟从关联理论出发,以多部文学作品为选材,把语篇连贯置于动态的交际过程之中,探讨了文学作品中人物之间无关联交际的语篇连贯机制。本文首先对语篇连贯研究作了简要回顾。然后,本文详细阐述了论文的理论基础—关联理论,并归纳总结了关联理论的优势,进而展现了关联理论在阐释文学作品中人物之间无关联交际的语篇连贯机制方面的独特视角。其次,本文在前人研究的基础上对语篇连贯进行了新的阐释,并探讨了连贯的本质以及关联与连贯的关系。接下来,本文重点探讨了文学作品中人物之间无关联交际的语篇连贯机制。经分析得出造成文学作品中人物之间交际失败的原因主要有六点,即词汇模糊、情境因素、社会因素、语用模糊、情感因素和感知能力的差异。然后,本文又进一步对这六大因素进行一一例证并分析得出,当把这些不具备关联性的对话放置在作品主题这一大语境下时,读者就不难发现,作者是刻意选择这些无关联对话的,目的是传达其交际意图,即体现和突出作品的主题思想。如此,作品不仅传达了作者的交际意图,而且实现了语篇整体的连贯性。最后,本文在总结部分提出了本研究的应用,即可以作为教学策略应用到英美文学教学中去。本文以关联理论为框架,结合丰富的实例,通过分析文学作品中人物之间的无关联交际现象,旨在说明这些无关联交际是如何服务于作品主题,进而实现语篇的连贯性,体现作品的文体风格。从而论证了关联理论不论对口语交际还是对文学语篇,不论对关联交际还是对无关联交际都具有强大的解释力。
[Abstract]:A communicative theory aimed at explaining various communicative phenomena should be able to explain not only successful communication, but also failed communication caused by various causes.In this paper, the invalid communication caused by various reasons should be regarded as invalid relevance communication, which is called irrelevant communication.According to relevance theory, the cognitive context of communicative parties is an important cause of communication failure.Based on the above two points, this paper intends to study the mechanism of disconnected discourse coherence in literary works by using the relevance theory and several literary works as materials to put discourse coherence in the process of dynamic communication.This thesis first makes a brief review of the study of discourse coherence.Then, this paper elaborates the theoretical basis of the thesis-relevance theory, and summarizes the advantages of relevance theory.It also shows the unique perspective of relevance theory in interpreting the discourse coherence mechanism of non-related communication between characters in literary works.Secondly, on the basis of previous studies, this paper makes a new interpretation of discourse coherence, and discusses the nature of coherence and the relationship between relevance and coherence.Secondly, the thesis focuses on the discourse coherence mechanism of the characters' communication in literary works.The main reasons for the failure of communication among characters in literary works are lexical ambiguity, situational factor, social factor, pragmatic ambiguity, affective factor and perceptual ability.Then, the thesis further exemplifies these six factors and finds out that when these irrelevant dialogues are placed in the context of the theme of the work, it is not difficult for the reader to find out.The author deliberately chooses these unrelated dialogues in order to convey his communicative intention, that is, to embody and highlight the theme of his works.In this way, the works not only convey the author's communicative intention, but also achieve the coherence of the text as a whole.Finally, the application of this study is put forward, that is, it can be applied to the teaching of British and American literature as a teaching strategy.Based on the theory of relevance and the abundant examples, this paper aims to explain how these uncorrelated communication serves the theme of the works, and then realizes the coherence of the text by analyzing the phenomenon of non-related communication among characters in literary works.Embody the stylistic style of the work.It demonstrates that relevance theory has a strong explanatory power for both oral communication and literary discourse, as well as for relevance communication and non-relevance communication.
