英汉新闻报道中元话语使用情况之对比分析

【摘要】：新闻报道是对国内外新近发生的新闻事件进行报道的一种体裁。随着国际交流的日益增强，新闻报道作为公众的传声筒，在增强国际交流和影响国际舆论观点方面发挥着重要的作用。要撰写一篇既得体又成功的新闻报道，作者必须借助元话语的帮助。元话语作为一种语言现象，不仅能帮助读者更好的掌握文章的组织脉络以便更好地理解文章，而且还能建立读者与文章、读者与作者之间的关系。本文采用Hyland和Tse在2004年的著作中提出的元话语分类方法，将元话语分为引导式元话语和互动式元话语两大类，每个大类又各自有五个子分类。根据这一分类，本文分析了共70篇新闻报道，，其中中文新闻报道和英文新闻报道各35篇，分别选自中国新闻奖和普利策新闻奖的获奖作品。基于所选语料库，本文旨在研究分析中英文新闻报道中元话语使用情况的异同点，并找出在两种不同的文化背景下，元话语在新闻报道中各自的使用特点，以期为元话语的进一步深入研究以及中英文新闻报道的写作与翻译提供有益参考。数据分析和结果表明：(1)元话语在中英文报道中皆使用频繁，其中引导式元话语在中英文报道中的使用频率皆高于互动式元话语的使用频率；(2)英文报道中引导式元话语的使用频率高于其在中文报道中的使用频率；(3)各子分类中，过渡标记语在中英文新闻报道中的使用频率都是最高的，而包括过渡标记语在内，证据标记语、介入标记语以及自我提及标记语在中英文新闻报道中的使用情况都存在显著差异。
[Abstract]:News report is a kind of genre to report the recent news events at home and abroad. With the increasing of international communication, news reports play an important role in enhancing international communication and influencing international public opinion. To write a decent and successful story, the author must use meta-discourse. Meta-discourse, as a linguistic phenomenon, can not only help the reader to grasp the organization of the article better in order to better understand the article, but also establish the relationship between the reader and the article and between the reader and the author. Using the meta-discourse classification method proposed by Hyland and Tse in their works in 2004, this paper classifies meta-discourse into two categories: guided meta-discourse and interactive meta-discourse, each of which has five sub-classifications. According to this classification, this paper analyzes a total of 70 news reports, including 35 Chinese news reports and 35 English news reports, selected from the winning works of the China News Award and the Pulitzer Prize respectively. Based on the selected corpus, this paper aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the use of meta-discourse in Chinese and English news reports, and to find out the characteristics of meta discourse in news reporting under two different cultural backgrounds. The purpose is to provide a useful reference for the further study of meta-discourse and the writing and translation of Chinese and English news reports. The data analysis and the results show that the meta discourse is frequently used in both Chinese and English reports. The frequency of use of guided meta discourse in Chinese and English reporting is higher than that in interactive meta utterance reporting. (2) the frequency of guiding meta discourse in English reporting is higher than that in Chinese reporting. Transitional markers are the most frequently used in Chinese and English news reports, and evidence markers, including transitional markers, are the most frequently used in Chinese and English news reports. There are significant differences in the use of intervention markers and self-reference markers in Chinese and English news reports.
