中英花卉词语文化内涵之对比研究

【摘要】:语言是文化的载体。任何语言都根植于特定的文化背景,反映特定文化内涵。词语是语言中最基本、最活跃的因素,不同文化必然从不同的层面折射到词语上来。“花”及下义词花卉词语是英汉语言的一个重要的组成部分,并反映出各自的文化内涵。随着中西文化交流的日益频繁,具有明显文化差异的花卉词语不仅会成为跨文化交际中的一个敏感问题,也成为语言学习中不可忽视的一个重要方面。 然而到目前为止,无论在数量上还是在深度上,对花卉词语文化内涵作对比分析的文献还是非常有限。本文试图对中英花卉词语的文化内涵差异进行对比研究,并且试图揭示在中英语言中,花卉词语所具有的文化内涵意义已经超越了其作为一种物种的原始本义。本研究有助于从文化的角度解读汉英花卉词汇的内涵意义,从而进一步明晰花文化的独特魅力。 作为一种自然生物,“花”一直盛开在中西方民族的审美视野中,不断地被赋予种种精神意蕴,成为一种特定的文化符号。由于“花”所具有的千姿百态的造型、绚丽的色彩、迷人的芳香给人类带来了美好愉悦的心情和无限的联想,所以花卉词语的文化内涵在英汉语言中不可避免地存在着某些共性,但是不同的语言始终具有本民族的文化特征。花卉词汇受地理环境、民间传说、宗教信仰、民情风俗、审美情趣和思维方式等因素的影响,具有其独特的文化内涵。因此极有可能导致具有不同文化的人们在文化交际中产生误解。 本研究首先简要介绍花卉词语文化内涵的研究背景及其重要性。并从各种诗集、文学作品、杂志和词典中收集了含有汉英花卉词语的例子,对中英花卉词语的文化内涵进行了对比分析。分析结果表明由于受思维方式,审美标准,自然环境,神话传说以及习俗和宗教等文化因素影响,中英花卉词语在指精华、女性的漂亮容貌、美好的事物及繁盛或繁华的场景或事物时有相似的文化内涵意义,而在指华而不实的或贬义的人或事物时又有所不同。通过对比分析发现汉语中花卉词语的贬义的文化内涵意义比英语多。同时,本研究希望对人们了解不同语言中花卉词语的文化内涵意义具有促进及提高的作用。
[Abstract]:Language is the carrier of culture. Any language is rooted in a specific cultural background and reflects a particular cultural connotation. Words are the most basic and active factors in language. "Flower" and "Flower words" are an important part of English and Chinese languages and reflect their respective cultural connotations. With the increasing frequency of cultural exchanges between China and the West, floral words with obvious cultural differences will not only become a sensitive issue in cross-cultural communication, but also become an important aspect of language learning. However, up to now, the literature on the cultural connotation of flower words is still very limited in terms of quantity and depth. This paper attempts to make a comparative study of the cultural connotations of Chinese and English flower words, and tries to reveal that the cultural connotations of flower words in Chinese and English languages have exceeded their original meaning as a species. This study is helpful to understand the connotative meaning of Chinese and English flower words from the perspective of culture, so as to further clarify the unique charm of flower culture. As a kind of natural organism, "flower" has been blooming in the aesthetic view of Chinese and western nations, and has been endowed with various spiritual connotations and become a special cultural symbol. Because of the "flower" has a variety of shapes, gorgeous colors, charming fragrance to the human beings to bring a happy mood and unlimited association, Therefore, the cultural connotations of flower words inevitably have some similarities in English and Chinese, but different languages always have their own cultural characteristics. Influenced by geographical environment, folklore, religious belief, folk custom, aesthetic taste and mode of thinking, flower vocabulary has its unique cultural connotation. Therefore, it is very likely that people with different cultures will misunderstand in cultural communication. Firstly, the research background and importance of the cultural connotation of flower words are briefly introduced. Examples of Chinese and English floral words are collected from various poetry collections, literary works, magazines and dictionaries, and the cultural connotations of Chinese and English flower words are compared and analyzed. The results show that due to the influence of cultural factors such as mode of thinking, aesthetic standards, natural environment, myths and legends, custom and religion, Chinese and English flower words refer to the essence, the beautiful appearance of women, and so on. Beautiful things and prosperous or prosperous scenes or things have similar cultural connotations, but when referring to flashy or derogatory people or things are different. The contrastive analysis shows that the derogatory meaning of flower words in Chinese is more than that in English. At the same time, the purpose of this study is to promote and improve the cultural meaning of flower words in different languages.
