[Abstract]:As a special language phenomenon, Chinese cold jokes are more and more popular with the Chinese people. As far as the research status of cold jokes is concerned, most of the studies use relevance theory or speech act theory to explain cold jokes from the perspective of pragmatics, regard them as a kind of communicative behavior of explicit reasoning, and pay less attention to the use of humor related theories to study cold jokes. This paper tries to analyze the types of humor in Chinese cold jokes compared with the traditional jokes on the basis of the main assumptions of Reiskin and the three elements of Giola's standard jokes. The main contents of the study are as follows: first of all, the types of humor used in cold jokes are secondary humor, absurd humor, and detuning humor. Among them, absurd humor can be divided into: partial solving humor, no solving humor, and resulting in new detuning humor. Among the above types of humor, only detuned humor and partial humor are used in traditional jokes. Secondly, although both cold jokes and traditional jokes are used to solve difficulties, this type of cold jokes accounts for a higher proportion of topics related to sex or other vulgar topics than traditional jokes. In addition, this type of cold jokes also widely use linguistic fuzziness. Since sex or other vulgar topics are often regarded as taboo topics by the public, a large number of jokes about these topics are easy to make a "cold" effect. Similarly, since language is a regular system, frequent destruction of language rules does not make a joke. Thirdly, based on the main assumptions of Leskin and the three elements of Giola's standard joke, it is found that except for detuned humor and partial humor, the humor types of other cold jokes violate the basic principles put forward by Riskin and Giola on standard jokes, and sum up some characteristics of Chinese cold jokes: first, cold jokes talk a lot about taboo topics. Second, cold jokes widely use linguistic fuzziness. Third, the types of humor used in cold jokes mostly violate the norms of some standard jokes. This paper is a tentative analysis of the humor phenomenon of cold jokes, hoping to play a certain role in promoting the study of the language phenomenon of cold jokes and enlightening the related research in the future.
