[Abstract]:First of all, the scope of this thesis is translatology, which is an exploration of translation theory rather than practice. The study of translation theory is later than translation practice. However, it has also undergone a long process of development, beginning with the principles of Chinese interpretation of translation and Cicero's first two basic translation methods in the Roman Empire. Many outstanding scholars have embarked on the journey of seeking the true meaning of translation. Generally speaking, the study of translation theory revolves around some things such as literal translation and free translation, faithfulness and faithfulness. A series of basic problems such as translatability and untranslatability are unfolded. Although they may seem simple, scholars in different historical periods have different theoretical bases for explaining these basic problems. As a result, there are many translation theory schools, which have made more and more profound researches on the basic problems of translation for thousands of years. With more and more research and exploration, translation theory is becoming more and more perfect. Secondly, the study of cultural imperialism in translation is a theoretical exploration within the framework of post-colonial translation theory. Postcolonial translation theory belongs to the third stage-a relatively new and influential branch of cultural translation theory. In retrospect, the first stage is the longest one. That is, from the emergence of translation theory to the end of 1940s, despite the emergence of such famous translators as Jerome, Tytler and Yan Fu during this period, many golden translation theories have been put forward. However, it is still empirical, not systematic and scientific. It was not until the end of 1940s that the study of translation theory made a qualitative leap forward with the help of linguistic theory and stepped into a scientific way with the appearance of modern linguistics. The second stage of systematization. However, translation is not a simple translation between languages, especially literary translation. Linguistic theories cannot solve the linguistic problems caused by the cultural differences between the original and the translated texts in the process of translation. Since 1950s, translation theorists have been seeking new theories to support the development of translation theories. The most influential one is the cultural perspective of translation. Post-colonial translation theories 鈥
