[Abstract]:Zhuangzi is a classic masterpiece of Taoism, one of the most famous classical masterpieces in China. It is also a compilation of papers on ethics, philosophy, politics, life, and scholarship of Zhuangzi School. It contains extensive and profound philosophical views and rich and colorful cultural content. So, let more people understand Zhuangzi, Zhuangzi, familiar with the classical culture of China. It is one of the ways for China to go to the world, and a good translation of Zhuangzi, insight into the philosophy that runs through it, and the transmission of cultural information between the lines are the important basis for determining the success of the English translation. The "cultural turn" in the field of translation studies has been a hot topic in recent years. Translation strategies corresponding to cultural factors have become the focus of this study. This thesis focuses on the translation of cultural information and translation strategies, as well as the analysis of the translation of some philosophical concepts. The reason for choosing the three English versions of the text is that the authors of the three versions are the foreign translators, GE Ruihan, the native translators of the East and the West, Lin Yutang, and Wang Rongpei, who has a good knowledge of the local culture. The comparison of cultural information transmission is of great significance. Zhuangzi has many chapters and extensive contents. Here it is discussed in detail only because it is generally considered to be made by Zhuangzi himself. The Chinese characters quoted in this paper are mainly based on Wang Rongpei's English-Chinese version. There are five chapters in this paper: The first chapter reviews the history and significance of cultural translation theory, summarizes the theory of translation studies, briefly reviews the development of cultural translation theory between China and the West, and leads to the role played by the translator in cultural translation. The second chapter discusses the "literal translation, free translation", "domestication, alienation", which have always been debated. According to its theoretical basis, the two strategies are analyzed through concrete examples. Chapter three gives a brief introduction to Zhuangzi and his works, and summarizes the three versions and the relevant contents of their translators. Chapter 4th begins with the translation of the title of the inner text, from the philosophical vocabulary throughout the text to the cultural information involved in the text, the translation of some classical sentences, and Zhuangzi's distinctive repetition of words. On the basis of this, the author compares the merits and demerits of the three versions in the process of cultural information transmission, sometimes citing other excellent translation points. Finally, the author concludes that the translator should try his best to understand the original text correctly in order to choose the appropriate translation strategy.
