从库恩对《红楼梦》人物外貌描写的翻译看文学翻译的问题

【摘要】：翻译是人类必不可少的实践,这是一个不容争辩的事实。在今天这个信息和全球化的时代,翻译作为沟通两种语言和文化的桥梁在当今社会起着越来越大的作用。文学翻译不仅是一种语言翻译成另一种语言,同时也是不同的美学理念和不同文化的传播。本文运用从个别到一般的研究方法,以库恩对《红楼梦》人物外貌描写的翻译为例,探讨文学翻译中的一些问题。本文首先将中国古典小说《红楼梦》和德国著名小说《布登勃洛克一家》中的人物外貌描写进行了比较。通过比较得出中德小说在人物外貌描写上的不同特点:中国小说中人物外貌描写经常是一种静态的、类型化的白描,在描写过程中大量运用比喻等修辞方法。此外语言上也经常会出现对偶、四字句和诗句等。而在德国小说中人物外貌往往是一种动态的、典型化的摹写,此外在修辞和语言等方面跟中国小说也有很大的不同。这些不同往往给文学翻译造成一定的困难。然后针对《红楼梦》人物外貌描写的特点,分析库恩是怎样解决这些困难的,并对库恩的翻译从翻译的要求方面进行了评价。在本文的第三部分结合库恩对《红楼梦》人物外貌描写的翻译从比较文学的角度全面探讨了影响文学翻译的各种因素。这些因素既涉及到语言差异,同时也涉及到美学理念和文化的差异。最后还探讨了面对这些因素所造成的翻译困难时译者的两种翻译策略。结语部分是对本文的一个总结。
[Abstract]:It is an indisputable fact that translation is an indispensable practice for mankind. In this age of information and globalization, Translation, as a bridge between two languages and cultures, plays a more and more important role in today's society. Literary translation is not only the translation of one language into another, but also the spread of different aesthetic concepts and cultures. This paper takes Kuhn's translation of the description of characters in A Dream of Red Mansions as an example and discusses some problems in literary translation. This paper first compares the description of the characters in the Chinese classical novel A Dream of Red Mansions with that in the famous German novel, the Butembles, and draws the different features of the Chinese and German novels in the description of the characters' appearance. The description of characters' appearance in Chinese novels is often static. In the process of description, figures of speech such as metaphor are used extensively. In addition, duality, four-character sentences and poems are often found in language. In German novels, the appearance of characters is often a dynamic and typical description. In addition, there are also great differences in rhetoric and language with Chinese novels. These differences often cause some difficulties in literary translation. Then according to the characteristics of the description of the characters in A Dream of Red Mansions, this paper analyzes how Kuhn solves these difficulties, and evaluates the translation requirements of Kuhn. In the third part of this paper, the author combines Kuhn's translation of the characters' appearance of "A Dream of Red Mansions" into a comprehensive study of the factors affecting literary translation from the perspective of comparative literature. At the same time, it also involves the differences of aesthetic concepts and cultures. Finally, two translation strategies are discussed in the face of the translation difficulties caused by these factors. The conclusion is a summary of this paper.
