认知视域下莫言《酒国》翻译距离的调整策略研究

【摘要】:文学翻译过程中,由于东西地域,历史,文化,生活习惯,文化习俗,宗教信仰和思维方式等的差异,不可能实现零度翻译。翻译的距离包含若干类型,文本距离,历史距离,身份距离,文化距离,审美距离和操控距离。本文将其简化分为客观距离和人为距离,人为距离需要解决客观距离所带来的诸多翻译问题。客观距离的存在也给译者留下判定和调整这一距离的空间。本文运用认知语言学中审美意象的认知和传递模式探讨源语和目的语之间二者客观距离的遵循原则和调整策略,从而达到审美意象在目的语中的完美再现。本文以诺贝尔奖获得者莫言的魔幻现实主义作品《酒国》为例,以首席翻译家葛浩文的译例为基础,探讨翻译距离的调整策略,拉大还是缩短,译者无论采取意象补充还是更换意象等方式都要使译文和原文实现动态对等,从而实现文化交流的目的。 本篇论文分为六章进行逐一介绍: 第一章:介绍了论文的研究背景和研究意义,学者们在翻译距离方面的研究成果和不足。本论文以莫言的《酒国》葛浩文的译本为例,运用认知语言学的理论分析翻译距离的调整策略研究。 第二章:讲解了翻译距离这一概念的由来,学者对其的不同观点。列出了翻译距离的分类,文学翻译中的翻译距离存在形式及相互关系,提出了翻译距离的调整策略。 第三章:介绍了《酒国》这一小说的写作背景,写作意图,故事梗概,作品的作者和译者的理念。 第四章:运用文学翻译的认知原则,通过审美意境,意象和意象图示关系,意象传递的认知模式来深层次分析认知视域下文学翻译的构建策略。通过列举影响意象传递的文化因素来揭示语境在文学翻译中的重要作用。 第五章:通过列举《酒国》的大量译例来分析翻译距离的调整策略。当源语和目的语的审美意象相同或相似时,可以拉近语言表层结构的距离。当源语与目的语的审美意象差异较大,通过更换意象和补充意象可以拉大语言表层结构的距离。原文读者与译文读者的认知语境不尽相同,使源语与目的语之间存在文化缺省现象。意象补充应是译者对目的语语境下的读者进行文化信息补充的手段。 第六章:针对翻译距离,认知意象,意象传递,《酒国》的作者和译者以及翻译距离的调整策略诸多方面,作者进行归纳总结。尤为重要的是,该论文还有诸多不足,未来还需不断研究。
[Abstract]:In the process of literary translation, it is impossible to achieve zero degree translation because of the differences between the east and west regions, history, culture, life habits, cultural customs, religious beliefs and ways of thinking. The distance of translation includes several types, text distance, historical distance, etc. Identity distance, cultural distance, aesthetic distance and manipulation distance are simplified into objective distance and artificial distance. Artificial distance needs to solve many translation problems caused by objective distance. The existence of objective distance also leaves a space for the translator to judge and adjust the distance. This paper uses the cognitive and transfer models of aesthetic image in cognitive linguistics. The objective distance between the source language and the target language is discussed in terms of the following principles and adjustment strategies. In order to achieve the perfect representation of aesthetic image in the target language, this paper takes Mo Yan's magic realism works by Nobel Prize winner Mo Yan as an example, and discusses the adjustment strategy of translation distance on the basis of the translation example of the chief translator, William Gehor. In order to achieve the purpose of cultural exchange, translators should make the target text and the original text achieve dynamic equivalence, whether by image supplement or replacement. This paper is divided into six chapters to introduce one by one:. The first chapter introduces the research background and significance of the thesis, the achievements and shortcomings of the scholars in translation distance. This thesis takes Mo Yan's version of "the Wine country" as an example. This paper analyzes the adjustment strategies of translation distance by means of cognitive linguistics. Chapter two explains the origin of the concept of translation distance and the different viewpoints of scholars. It lists the classification of translation distance, the forms of translation distance in literary translation and the relationship between translation distance and puts forward the adjustment strategy of translation distance. Chapter three introduces the writing background, writing intention, story outline, author and translator of the novel. Chapter 4th: using the cognitive principles of literary translation, through the aesthetic conception, image and image graphic relationship, The cognitive mode of image transmission is used to deeply analyze the construction strategy of literary translation from the perspective of cognition, and to reveal the important role of context in literary translation by enumerating the cultural factors that affect image transmission. Chapter 5th: to analyze the adjustment strategy of translation distance by enumerating a large number of examples. When the aesthetic images of the source language and the target language are the same or similar, When the aesthetic images of source language and target language are quite different, the distance between surface structure of language can be widened by changing image and supplementary image. The cognitive context of the original text reader and the target language reader is different. The image supplement should be the translator's means to supplement the cultural information to the readers in the context of the target language. Chapter 6th: the author summarizes the translation distance, the cognitive image, the image transmission, the author and the translator, and the adjustment strategy of the translation distance. The future still needs to be studied.
