梁实秋之中庸翻译观研究

【摘要】:梁实秋是20世纪上半叶中国新文学运动的风云人物,他跨越海峡两岸,沟通中西文化,联结传统与现代,在散文创作,文学翻译,词典编撰和学术研究等方面成就卓越。作为一个翻译大家,梁实秋译作颇丰,其翻译的《莎士比亚全集》尤为特色。在长期翻译过程中,梁实秋形成了自己独有的翻译观念-----“中庸”翻译观。 梁实秋的翻译活动深受其文艺思想的影响,而文艺思想又紧密联系着他的人生哲学。作为中国现代自由主义文艺思想的代表人物之一,梁实秋一生恪守“中庸”之道,在世界观方面他与古希腊的亚里士多德,柏拉图和中国的孔子有许多暗合之处,即在自然主义的纵欲和宗教的灭欲的两极中,经过理性节制后求得精神和物质两端的平衡,以达到一种和谐,适度的“中庸”境界。这一思想内核在他文艺思想中表现的便是信奉稳健,传统的保守的古典主义,认为文学应当反映普遍的,永久的人性,强调以理制欲,崇尚典雅,中和,适度的美学原则,注重天才说,推崇文学的严重性和独立性。梁实秋追求“中庸”人生的哲学态度自然影响了他的翻译观:1)在翻译态度方面,译者应该严肃负责,注重学问道德;2)在翻译选材方面,译者应该理性审慎,译介反映永久人性的经典著作;3)在翻译目的方面,译者应该注意文化传播,展示翻译文学的多元化特征;4)在翻译策略方面,译者应该把握好适度原则,尽量做到恰切得体;5)在翻译审美方面,译者应该展现雍容尔雅,温和内敛的美学风格。可见,,翻译并不是一项简单的语言转换活动,而是渗透着译者的文艺思想和人生哲学影响复杂的活动。同时在翻译实践中,梁实秋注重在文化内涵传递,文学形式的表达,语言风格的再现等方面的特色,其翻译实践观体现了“诚”“善”“美”相统一的原则,并且字里行间贯穿着一种对话精神。 论文第一章简要介绍了梁实秋的中庸翻译观的理论渊源,研究意图,以及研究的基本方法。 论文第二章简要交代了梁实秋中庸翻译观的特点,其翻译状况和其翻译研究现状。 论文第三章探讨了梁实秋中庸翻译观的形成背景,主要通过两个方面:其人生哲学和文学思想两方面进行分析,最后讨论对其翻译观的影响。 论文第四章主要从中庸思想来谈梁实秋中庸翻译观认识理论上的表现:主要有理论基础部分和理论核心部分两方面。 论文第五章主要谈中庸翻译观在梁实秋实践中的体现。 论文从中庸的角度对梁实秋的翻译进行剖析,最后证明其翻译呈现出中庸特色,因此命名为中庸翻译观。
[Abstract]:Liang Shiqiu was a great figure in the Chinese New Literature Movement in the first half of the 20th century. He crossed the straits, communicated Chinese and Western cultures, connected tradition with modernity, and made outstanding achievements in prose creation, literary translation, dictionary compilation and academic research. As a translator, Liang Shiqiu has a lot of translations, and his complete works of Shakespeare are particularly distinctive. In the long-term translation process, Liang Shiqiu has formed his own unique translation concept, the "mean" translation concept. Liang Shiqiu's translation activities are deeply influenced by his literary and artistic thoughts, which are closely related to his philosophy of life. As one of the representative figures of Chinese modern liberal literary and artistic thought, Liang Shiqiu adheres to the "mean" principle all his life. In terms of his worldview, he shares many hidden points with Aristotle, Plato and Confucius in ancient Greece. That is, in the two poles of naturalism and religion, the balance between spirit and material is obtained after rational temperance, in order to achieve a harmonious and moderate "mean" state. In his literary and artistic thoughts, the kernel of this thought is the conservative classicism which believes that literature should reflect universal and permanent human nature and emphasize the aesthetic principles of rationalism, elegance, neutralization, and moderation. Pay attention to the theory of genius, praise the seriousness and independence of literature. Liang Shiqiu's philosophical attitude towards the "mean" of life naturally influences his translation view: 1) in terms of translation attitude, the translator should be serious and responsible, and attach importance to learning and morality. 2) in the selection of translation materials, the translator should be rational and prudent. In terms of translation purposes, translators should pay attention to cultural communication and show the pluralistic features of translation literature. 4) in terms of translation strategies, the translator should grasp the principle of moderation. (5) in the aspect of translation aesthetics, the translator should show a graceful and gentle esthetic style. Therefore, translation is not a simple language conversion activity, but a complex one which permeates the translator's literary thoughts and philosophy of life. At the same time, in translation practice, Liang Shiqiu pays attention to the characteristics of cultural connotation transmission, literary form expression, language style reproduction and so on. His translation practice view embodies the principle of "sincerity" and "goodness" and "beauty". And the lines run through a spirit of dialogue. The first chapter briefly introduces the theoretical origin, research intention and basic methods of Liang Shiqiu's mean translation theory. Chapter two briefly introduces the characteristics of Liang Shiqiu's mean translation theory, its translation status and its translation studies. The third chapter discusses the background of Liang Shiqiu's translation theory of the mean, mainly through two aspects: his philosophy of life and his literary thoughts, and finally discusses the impact on his view of translation. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the theoretical expression of Liang Shiqiu's translation theory of mean from the perspective of the mean: the theoretical basis and the core of the theory. Chapter five focuses on the embodiment of the mean translation concept in the practice of Liang Shiqiu. The thesis analyzes the translation of Liang Shiqiu from the perspective of the mean, and finally proves that the translation of Liang Shiqiu has the characteristics of the mean, so it is named the mean translation view.
