从语言功能角度看唐诗的可译与不可译

【摘要】： 翻译是一个充满悖论的领域。在诸多悖论中，可译与不可译是一对古老的二律背反命题。这一悖论根植于民族语言文化差异在翻译中必然产生的矛盾和困难中。诗歌作为最凝练的一种文学样式，是民族语言的精华与文化的结晶。因此人们普遍认为诗歌是最难翻译的。中国唐诗的翻译更是如此。唐诗作为中华民族古典文化中的一颗璀璨的明珠，是中国传统文化的集中反映，它蕴藏了丰富的文化内涵以及美学内涵。本文试图从语言功能角度探讨唐诗的可译性以及不可译性，其中语言的认知表达功能决定了唐诗的总体可译性，语言的文化和美学功能又分别与相对不可译性和绝对不可译性有着紧密联系。唐诗带给读者的是美学享受，因此译者可能会感到译事备艰。笔者认为应当采用辩证唯物主义的观点去看待唐诗的可译度，即，绝对的对等和绝对的不可译都是不可取的，应当承认唐诗翻译中是存在限度的。但总体来说相对可译与有效翻译是可以实现的。在翻译过程中加入比较诗学的理论和方法研究，可以对原作及译入语的文化背景，历史渊源及语言特点有更透彻的比较。
[Abstract]:Translation is a field full of paradoxes. Among many paradoxes, translatable and untranslatable are two ancient antithesis. This paradox is rooted in the contradictions and difficulties that inevitably arise in translation between national language and cultural differences. Poetry, as the most concise literary style, is the essence of national language and the crystallization of culture. Therefore, it is generally believed that poetry is the most difficult to translate. This is especially true of the translation of Chinese Tang poetry. Tang poetry, as a bright pearl in Chinese classical culture, is a concentrated reflection of Chinese traditional culture, which contains rich cultural connotation and aesthetic connotation. This paper attempts to explore the translatability and untranslatability of Tang poetry from the perspective of linguistic function, in which the cognitive expression of language determines the overall translatability of Tang poetry. The cultural and aesthetic functions of language are closely related to relative untranslatability and absolute untranslatability. Tang poetry brings aesthetic enjoyment to readers, so translators may find it difficult to prepare for translation. The author holds that the translatability of Tang poetry should be viewed from the viewpoint of dialectical materialism, that is, absolute equivalence and absolute untranslatability are undesirable, and the limits of Tang poetry translation should be recognized. But generally speaking, relative translatability and effective translation can be realized. The theory and method of comparative poetics can make a more thorough comparison of the cultural background, historical origin and linguistic characteristics of the original text and the target language.
