句法象似性与前景化语篇的文体翻译

【摘要】: 象似性是语言形成的基本机制之一。近年来对语言与文学的研究表明语言结构在很大程度上是有理据性的。语言的象似性通常指语言结构与概念结构之间的理据性。本文集中探讨句法象似性在文学翻译中的意义。 “有些时候,通过对语法的研究,我们可以获取许多关于世界结构的知识。”(罗素,1973:328)据此,本文讨论了句法结构是如何反映思维结构和现实结构的,并在探讨了象似性在前景化语篇中的若干表现之后,肯定了其文体学意义,即象似性是取得特定文体效果的有效机制。句法象似性在文学创作、文学翻译与文学批评中的理论意义在于,它是整合语言机制同艺术效果使文本“言有尽而意无穷”的文体学解释。论文认为,作为文学翻译中主要的审美主体,译者必须意识到象似性是翻译时语际转换的心理认知基础以及这种由句法促成的形式内容效果三者的文体互动,并以此作为文学写作和翻译中谋篇策略以及文本批评的一个客观参照点;以象似译象似再现前景化化语篇的文体特征,力求做到“风格标记性”和“文学表达力”的对等。 首先,论文从语言学、文体学及文学翻译三者之间的关系入手,介绍了象似性与文学翻译的生存背景,奠定了从语言学视角研究文学文本文体风格翻译的理论基础。并从句法象似性与前景化语篇的关联性视角,通过实例论证了象似性是前景化语篇组织的一个基本原则,是实现文本文体效果的重要机制。 其次,论文重点从象似性的视角探讨了前景化语篇的翻译问题。考察结果表明,句法中的主观句式、客观句式、戏剧性句式、流水句式、并置、重复和省略等句法现象都可以从象似性的角度得到比较充分的解释,分别以其各自独特方式表现了数量象似、顺序象似、对称象似、标记象似等象似性关系;译者采取象似性的切入点进行文体传译,有助于实现形式内容效果三者间的统一,有效再现原文本的文体价值。作为论据,论文选择性地深入比较分析了小说中前景化语篇的英文或中文译例。 最后,论文总结了从象似性研究文学文本文体翻译的理论意义与实践意义。该研究不仅为文体翻译的研究提供了新的视角,从而拓展了象似性的研究视野,也为今后进行更深入更系统的研究提供了思路。
[Abstract]:Iconicity is one of the basic mechanisms of language formation. Recent studies on language and literature show that language structure is to a great extent motivated. Iconicity of language usually refers to the motivation between linguistic structure and conceptual structure. This paper focuses on the significance of syntactic iconicity in literary translation. "sometimes, by studying grammar, we can acquire a lot of knowledge about the structure of the world." (Russell 1973: 328) on this basis, this paper discusses how syntactic structures reflect the structure of thinking and reality, and confirms its stylistic significance after discussing some manifestations of iconicity in foregrounding discourse. Iconicity is an effective mechanism for achieving specific stylistic effects. The theoretical significance of syntactic iconicity in literary creation, literary translation and literary criticism lies in that it is a stylistic interpretation that integrates linguistic mechanisms with artistic effects and makes the text "full of words and endless meanings". The thesis holds that, as the main aesthetic subject in literary translation, translators must realize that iconicity is the psychological cognitive basis of interlingual translation and the stylistic interaction among them. It is regarded as an objective reference point for textual strategies and textual criticism in literary writing and translation, and the stylistic features of the foregrounding text are reproduced with the iconicity of the image in order to achieve the equivalence between "style marking" and "literary expressiveness". First of all, from the perspective of linguistics, stylistics and literary translation, the thesis introduces the existential background of iconicity and literary translation, and establishes the theoretical basis for the study of literary text stylistic style translation from the linguistic perspective. From the perspective of the relevance between syntactic iconicity and foregrounding text, this paper demonstrates that iconicity is a basic principle of foregrounding text organization and an important mechanism to achieve the stylistic effect of the text. Secondly, the thesis focuses on the translation of foregrounding texts from the perspective of iconicity. The results show that the syntactic phenomena, such as subjective, objective, dramatic, flowing, juxtaposition, repetition and ellipsis, can be fully explained from the perspective of iconicity. In their own unique ways, they represent the quantitative iconicity, the sequential iconicity, the symmetrical iconicity, the marked iconicity and the stylistic interpretation, which helps to achieve the unity of the effects of the formal content, and the translator adopts the iconicity to carry out stylistic interpretation. Effectively reproduce the stylistic value of the original text. As an argument, the thesis makes a selective and in-depth comparative analysis of the English or Chinese translation examples of the foregrounding discourse in the novel. Finally, the thesis summarizes the theoretical and practical significance of literary textual stylistic translation from iconicity. The study not only provides a new perspective for the study of stylistic translation, but also extends the visual field of iconicity and provides a way for further and more systematic research in the future.
