胡适诗歌翻译的描述性研究

【摘要】: 在中国近代史上,新文化运动作为一场思想启蒙运动,具有重大的历史意义。在这场运动中,中国知识分子大量译介西方文学作品,希望用西方资产阶级文化启蒙中国民众,用外来文学建设中国文学,由此形成了中国翻译史上一次翻译高潮。其中以诗歌翻译的影响最大。在整个中国翻译史上,新文化运动时期是参与诗歌翻译人数最多,翻译诗歌数量也最多的时期。胡适是我们研究此时期诗歌翻译的重要人物。作为新文化运动战将之一,胡适积极主张废除文言文,提倡白话文,主张将白话文作为中国新文学的文学语言。为了实现其白话文主张,胡适尝试用白话文翻译外国诗歌,其“白话译诗”从诗歌主题,诗歌语言,到诗体都经历了深刻的变化,反映出胡适的翻译主体性和创造性,也反映出诗歌翻译与目的语文化的深刻联系。在当时特殊的历史文化时期,胡适的白话译诗不仅为白话文的推广和接受提供了载体,还让中国读者接触了与中国传统诗歌截然不同的诗歌形式,更重要的是借助西方诗歌特征,催发了中国新诗体的诞生,实现了中国诗歌从传统到现代的转变。此后出现了许多用白话新诗体创作的诗歌,胡适及其译诗在其中所作的贡献绝对不可忽视。 本篇论文将对胡适的诗歌翻译进行个案研究,在本篇论文中笔者将跳出传统的价值判断的翻译研究框架,,在翻译文化研究学派理论的照观下,从更广阔的角度对胡适的诗歌翻译进行描述性的研究,探讨五四时期中国文化环境对诗歌翻译的推动和制约作用,胡适诗歌翻译的动机,翻译策略的实施受何种因素的制约,以及胡适译诗对中国新诗的发展有何作用。整篇论文是描述性的,而非规约性的,不是为了对胡适的译文作价值判断,而是要对胡适的诗歌翻译活动作客观的描述。 除引言和结语之外,本论文共分四章。 第一章为背景知识介绍,包括新文化运动的介绍和新文化运动时期的中国诗歌翻译的概况。 第二章是胡适诗歌翻译的描述性研究。按时间顺序将胡适的诗歌翻译活动分为三个阶段,分别描述每一阶段译者的翻译动机,翻译文本和翻译策略的选择,及其引发的语言和诗体的变化。 第三章将探讨胡适在翻译过程中的主体性和创造性。 第四章将探讨五四新文化运动时期,胡适的白话译诗和中国新诗滥觞的关系。 结语部分对全文进一步归纳和总结。指出对新文化运动的重要人物——胡适的翻译活动研究不能只停留在语言层面,而应将其放在历史文化的语境中。通过运用文化翻译学派的理论观点,研究发现胡适的诗歌翻译不仅是一种文学活动,同时也是一场文化运动,是为了实现“中国文艺复兴”的文化运动。胡适的诗歌翻译经历了语言和诗体的探索,成功地实现了语言和新诗体的转换,这种转换同时促进中国新诗体的诞生,实现了中国诗体的现代化,由此更进一步证明了翻译的文化交流的本质。
[Abstract]:In the modern history of China, the new cultural movement, as an ideological enlightenment movement, was of great historical significance. In this movement, Chinese intellectuals translated a large number of western literary works, hoped to enlighten the Chinese people with western bourgeois culture and build Chinese literature with foreign literature, thus forming a high translation history in China. In the history of the whole Chinese translation, the period of the new culture movement is the period in which the number of poetry translation is the most and the number of poetry translation is the most. Hu Shi is an important figure in the study of poetry translation in this period. As one of the new cultural movements, Hu Shi actively advocates the abolition of classical Chinese and the vernacular.
