[Abstract]:The discussion of style translation runs through the whole history of translation. Whether style translation is appropriate or not is one of the criteria for the success of translation. Famous translators at all times and in all over the world have paid great attention to the study of the reproduction of the original style in translation theory and practice, and have made an incisive exposition on its importance. However, since the definition of style has always been different, there are different views on reproducing the original text style. By examining the study of style by Chinese and foreign scholars and the exposition of stylistic translation in the history of Chinese and Western translation, the author suggests that the stylistic and linguistic research model should be used to analyze the reproduction of external features of style in the translation. Francis Bacon (1561-1626) is a famous philosopher and political activist in the English Renaissance. He is also regarded as the first ancestor of British essays. His works Bacon's essay is his main literary work. Earned him an immortal literary reputation. The unique way of expression in this paper forms the style of aphorism. In addition, the use of a large number of rhetorical devices enhanced persuasion and reinforced the theme. This style of simplicity and clarity even influenced the writing standards of later Royal Society scientists. The research objects of the thesis, Shuitian Tong version of Essays and Cao Minglun translation, are excellent examples. This paper begins with the analysis of Bacon's "Essays" style, and by means of literary stylistic theory, compares the two versions' grasp and reproduction of Bacon's language style from two angles of syntax and rhetoric. At the syntactic level, it mainly discusses the translation of the original compound sentence, ellipsis sentence, and compound sentence, and at the rhetorical level mainly discusses the translation of comparison sentence, figurative sentence and contrastive sentence of the original text. The paper also discusses the use of the target language in different versions of a particular style and the influence of the form of expression on the translation of style. This paper further discusses how to properly grasp and reproduce the original style in literary translation, especially prose essay translation. By comparing the relevant versions of the two versions, this paper discusses the role of the translator in the relationship between the "original style" and "the translation style", and points out that reproduction of the original style is the basic requirement for the translator. The conclusion emphasizes that descriptive translation studies adopt an open and tolerant attitude towards the translation, which is conducive to the prosperity and development of translation, the interpretation of the classics and the trend of the classics to the masses.
