从经验纯理功能角度看《周南》英译

【摘要】：《周南》是《诗经·国风》中的第一部分，有着深厚的文学及文化地位，其翻译研究受到广泛关注。《诗经》译本众多，学者们运用不同理论对这些译本进行了研究，这些研究大多集中在诗经的主题、意象、美学、音韵等方面，对原作与译本之间相同点与差异的讨论则相对不足。因此，本文拟以韩礼德提出的经验纯理功能的描述为理论基础，将许渊冲和理雅各的两个译本与原文进行比较分析，以讨论翻译的一大原则——忠实性的问题。经验纯理功能由及物性这一语法系统实现。这个系统包含了过程本身，以及其中的参与者和环境成分三个部分。本文首先从过程、参与者、环境成分三个方面对原文与两个译本进行客观分析，然后再将两个译本分别与原文进行比较研究。最终本文认为，许渊冲的译本更加忠实于原文。这一结论很大程度取决于他们在过程、参与者、环境三个方面对原文的不同理解。因此，，我们在进行翻译创作时，若力求保持对原文的忠实，首先应尽力展现原文的过程；其次应力图还原原文中的参与者和环境成分。迄今，诗歌的赏析标准众说纷纭，希望本文的研究可以为诗歌翻译的忠实性问题提供一个新的研究视角，同时对不同诗歌译本的批评与赏析也起到一定推动作用。
[Abstract]:Zhou Nan, the first part of the Book of songs, has a profound literary and cultural status, and its translation studies have received extensive attention. There are many versions of the Book of songs, and scholars have used different theories to study these versions. Most of these studies focus on the theme of the Book of songs, imagery, aesthetics, rhyme and so on, but the discussion of the similarities and differences between the original and the translation is relatively inadequate. Therefore, on the theoretical basis of Halliday's description of empirical pure function, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the two versions of Xu Yuanchong and Rebek with the original text in order to discuss the problem of faithfulness, one of the major principles of translation. The function of empiricism is realized by the grammatical system of transitivity. The system consists of the process itself, as well as its participants and environmental components. This paper first analyzes the original text and the two versions objectively from three aspects: process, participant and environment, and then compares the two versions with the original text. Finally, this paper argues that Xu Yuanchong's translation is more faithful to the original text. This conclusion depends largely on their different interpretations of the original in terms of process, participants, and environment. Therefore, if we strive to keep faithful to the original text, we should first try to show the process of the original text, and secondly, we should restore the participants and environmental elements in the original text by using the stress map. Up to now, there are different opinions on the standards of poetry appreciation. It is hoped that this study can provide a new perspective for the study of the faithfulness of poetry translation and at the same time promote the criticism and appreciation of different versions of poetry.
