戏剧4000 Miles翻译实践报告

戏剧是一种特殊的文学体裁,也是文化交流中的一个重要组成部分。目前国内外对戏剧翻译的研究远不及其他体裁,但戏剧翻译研究对文化交流与发展起着不可或缺的作用。戏剧具有的二元性,即可读性和可表演性,决定了戏剧翻译的独特性。如何实现戏剧可读性和可表演性的统一,是戏剧翻译的一个重要课题。本翻译报告选用的文本是美国剧作家Amy Herzog的代表作4000 Miles。该剧于2011年在百老汇第42街公爵剧院上演。剧本讲述了21岁的青年Leo在失去一个重要的朋友之后,深夜来到91岁的外婆家寻求安慰,由此展开祖孙两代之间的冲突与温情的故事。本文在戏剧4000 Miles翻译实践的基础之上,结合关联理论,从语言、修辞和文化三个层面对译文进行分析。在语言层面,笔者详细分析了关联理论指导下,实现戏剧文本简洁化、口语化、个性化、动作化的方法;在修辞层面,主要通过对讽刺和双关的翻译分析,探讨了关联理论对戏剧翻译的指导作用;文化层面,通过对俚语和习语的翻译,得出关联理论的指导意义。通过寻求话语与语境的最佳关联,达到交际双方“互明”,获得交际的成功,从而得到更好的译本,使戏剧翻译满足可读性与可表演性的原则。
