布迪厄社会学视角下加里·史耐德英译寒山诗研究

寒山诗一度处于中国传统诗歌领域无人问津的边缘地带,直到1958年美国著名诗人加里·史耐德翻译了寒山诗二十四首。该译本一经出版便在美国广为流传,并引起了很大的反响。尽管目前学术界对史耐德寒山诗英译本的研究不少,但是从社会学角度切入的研究并不多。在众多的社会学理论中,翻译研究者们使用频率最高的是法国著名社会学家布迪厄提出的社会学理论.因为该理论同时将客观的社会因素和主观的个人因素结合起来进行研究。本文基于布迪厄提出的社会学理论,以寒山诗二十四首为分析语料,采用定性分析和案例分析方法,分别从场域、惯习和资本三个角度考察史耐德寒山诗二十四首英译本在美国从最初的译本选择,到译者翻译再到被美国读者接受的译介过程。本文有以下研究意义和发现:第一,本文有望为寒山诗英译研究提供了一个新的理论视角,也为日后中国文学走出去提供参考和指导。第二,通过探究该译作在美国赢得众多读者青睐的原因发现,寒山诗诗歌主题与风格与美国当时文学场域和社会背景相符合;译者个人翻译惯习决定了他选择24首寒山诗进行翻译并且在翻译实践中巧妙使用翻译方法,既保证了译作原汁原味的风格又满足了美国当地读者的文学需求;同时,译者史耐德拥有很高的...
