解读女权主义在后维多利亚至爱德华时期英国女性作家儿童文学中的体现

在众多被运用到儿童文学批评中的文化研究和文学理论里,女权主义批评理论被誉为是“儿童文学批评的新方向”。尤其是针对在后维多利亚到爱德华的转折时期出现的一批新的英国女性作家的儿童文学作品及其标志性的反传统的女主人公们,女权主义文学批评给予了重新评价。这类小说大多以青少年女性为主角,重点描写她们的标志性行为特征,并通过塑造她们反传统的个性特征,来关注女性的心理以及社会地位的变化。然而值得注意的是,由于阶级社会的压力和影响,这些女性作家不可避免的最后都回归到传统的文学模式或是对性别问题表达了模棱两可的态度,所以,长期以来,在儿童文学评论界里,这些作品并未得到足够重视,因为它们被认为是“只变花样,不变实质”,只不过是机械重复传统的阶级思维模式。本文并不同意这一观点,为了推翻认为这类儿童文学只不过是逃避现实派的玩娱之作或是保守派写给中层社会女孩的成长手册的传统观点,本文呼吁从女权主义角度对这类儿童文学进行重新审视,旨在分析女权主义观点和积极意义在这类作品中的体现,以证明他们是女权主义第一阶段中至关重要的组成部分。本文选取了维多利亚到爱德华时期几部经典之作包括米德·托玛斯娜的《女孩毕业生》,伊迪丝·...
