认知诗学意象论初探

【摘要】：意象是文学的重要概念之一,但认知诗学作为文学的认知研究至今未对其进行探讨,对此本研究拟作一个初步的尝试。 意象概念存在于多个学科之中,不仅各学科内有多种涵义,中西方、各学科定义之间还相互交织,导致意象概念十分模糊。 认知心理学、认知语言学认为意象是表象,是“感觉、知觉的心智表征”(王寅, 2006, p. 175);文艺心理学认为意象是熔铸了作者主观意图的想象表象(金开诚, 1999, p. 49);美学中意象又叫审美意象,康德(2007, p. 143)认为它是想象的表征;文学中的意象定义不仅有来自中国传统文论的意境说、艺术形象说、含意之象说、意中之象说,还有众多与心理学、美学交织的定义。 要将意象概念引入认知诗学研究,就必须确立自己的工作定义。 在廓清意象与其相关术语关系的基础上,我们提出了认知诗学的意象定义,该定义纳入了语言、认知、作者思想感情、美感因素,全面客观,适用于认知诗学研究。找出意象的生成机制有助于意象的创作和欣赏。然而以往的文学研究对意象机制的阐述虽然全面但主观,导致机制不明。认知科学的阐释客观科学,但基本忽略了情感,更没有解释美感的来源。 本研究在利用图形-背景基本认知方式修补CBT的基础上提出了CBT~+。CBT~+认为图形-背景原则是整合阶段所自动遵循的普遍的认知原则,在整合中,整合运动总是按照形成一定图形的目的来进行,新创结构就是整合后所生成的图形。生成的图形越清晰,整合越合理,生成的图形模糊,则整合不合理或错误。而形成什么样的图形往往由语境、背景知识来决定。与CBT相比较,CBT+具有更强的解释力,尤其适用于对意象生成机制的解释,它不仅明确了整合的方向,还能够解释意象中美感的来源。
