《红楼梦》两英译本诗词曲赋典故的跨文化翻译比较研究

【摘要】：本文从文化的观念入手，引入文化的概念及特征，并指出其与语言和翻译的内在联系。由此，把翻译研究纳入文化范畴。翻译不仅仅是双语之间的语义转换，而且是双文化之间的交流与融合。翻译中的困难在很大程度上是由文化距离和文化障碍所造成的。文化距离包括译文读者与原文文化、原文文本与原文文化以及读者与文本之间的距离。文化障碍则主要体现在语言、思维模式、价值观和宗教信仰四个方面。作者认为消除距离，克服障碍必须从以下几个方面着手：一、通晓母语文化；二、清楚文化空白；三、培养跨文化意识；四、提高双语、双文化综合能力。《红楼梦》是我国四大古典文学名著之一，也是世界文化宝库中的瑰宝。其中蕴含丰富的民俗文化，岁时节日、婚丧嫁娶、衣食住行、游艺娱乐、人生家庭礼仪、园林医药等等，几乎无所不包。说它是“中国文化大百科全书”毫不夸张。因此，本文以《红楼梦》为研究客体，并参考英译本中两个较权威的优秀版本---杨宪益译本和大卫·霍克斯译本，对其中富含文化内涵的诗词曲赋典故进行对比分析研究。翻译中对文化因素的处理有多种方法、模式，且多数为二分法。本文选取其中最具代表性，影响也较大的两组模式---语义翻译和交际翻译，归化和异化为理论依据，对《红楼梦》两个英译本中的诗词曲赋典故作个案分析研究。在传统的翻译评论中，一般翻译评论者往往会赞成一种原则或方法，而反对另一种原则或方法。但作者通过分析两个英译本，发现语义翻译和交际翻译各有所长，也各有所短。归化和异化亦然。不同的翻译方法是不同翻译目的的结果，服务的读者群不尽相同，翻译效果也大不相同。上述四种方法或模式都无法单独完成翻译任务。推而广之，作者认为任何一种单一的翻译模式都难以解决翻译中的所有文化问题。翻译原则应是相对的，，多元的，而不是绝对的。译者只有兼取各种翻译方法、模式之所长，才能忠实再现《红楼梦》的文化内涵，真正起到中西文化交流的目的。
[Abstract]:Starting with the concept of culture, this paper introduces the concept and characteristics of culture, and points out its internal relationship with language and translation. Therefore, the study of translation is brought into the category of culture. Translation is not only a semantic transformation between two languages. The difficulties in translation are to a large extent caused by cultural distance and cultural barriers. Cultural distance includes the target readers and the original culture. The cultural barriers are mainly embodied in four aspects: language, mode of thinking, values and religious beliefs. To overcome the obstacles, we must start from the following aspects: first, know the culture of mother tongue; Second, make clear the cultural blank; Third, to cultivate cross-cultural consciousness; Fourth, improve bilingual, bicultural comprehensive ability. "A Dream of Red Mansions" is one of the four famous works of classical literature in China, and it is also a treasure in the world cultural treasure. It contains rich folk culture, age festivals, marriage and funeral, clothing, food, shelter, recreation and entertainment. Family etiquette, garden medicine and so on, almost everywhere. It is no exaggeration to say that it is an encyclopedia of Chinese culture. Therefore, this paper takes A Dream of Red Mansions as the object of study, and refers to two more authoritative versions of English versions-Yang Xianyi and David Hawks. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the poetic and poetic allusions which are rich in cultural connotations. There are many ways to deal with cultural factors in translation, and most of them are dichotomized. In this paper, we choose two groups of modes-semantic translation and communicative translation, which are the most representative and most influential. Based on the theory of domestication and alienation, this paper makes a case study of the poetic and poetic allusions in the two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions. In traditional translation reviews, the general translation critics tend to agree with a principle or method. However, by analyzing the two English versions, the author finds that semantic translation and communicative translation have their own strengths. Different translation methods are the result of different translation purposes, and the audience of service is different. The translation effect is also very different. None of the above four methods or models can complete the translation task alone. By extension, the author believes that any single translation model can hardly solve all cultural problems in translation. The principle of translation should be relative, pluralistic, and not absolute. The translator can only use a variety of translation methods. Only through the advantages of the model can we faithfully reproduce the cultural connotation of A Dream of Red Mansions and truly play a key role in the cultural exchange between China and the West.
