从文学文体学角度分析《呼啸山庄》杨苡译本

【摘要】:文学文体学是介于语言学和文学之间的一门理论,是连接语言学和文学批评的桥梁。它既强调语言学的描写,又重视文学批评的阐释;它视文体为实际运用中的语言选择,将文体及其产生的效果纳入研究对象,试图借助适当的语言学工具来描述并分析文学作品中有助于表达主题意义和加强审美效果的语言特征并探讨它们的文学价值。文学文体学在描述语言形式的同时能发掘文学语篇的美学意义,是文学研究从主观走向客观的桥梁,因此,它对文学翻译和文学翻译批评来说,是评价翻译质量的一块试金石。(封宗信,1995:40) 将文学文体学应用于文学翻译,有利于译者增强文体意识,更好地把握语言形式所阐发的主题意义和美学功能,更为注重形式和内容之间的交互作用,从而尽可能避免翻译中的文体损差。同时,将其应用于翻译批评,可使评论更为客观,避免传统主观印象式的、直觉式的评论。在我国,文学文体学理论已经应用到翻译领域,已有两者相结合的研究,只是这方面的研究还不够。 《呼啸山庄》是英国女作家艾米莉·勃朗特的作品,也是她唯一的一部小说。它迥异于同时代的作品,描述了强烈的爱恨以及由之而起的无情报复;它如同一首奇特的抒情诗,充满着丰富的想象和猛烈的情感,具有震撼人心的艺术力量。国内外对其研究由来已久,且涉及范围广泛。《呼啸山庄》在中国译本众多,对其译介情况的研究还有待深入。《呼啸山庄》杨苡译本1955年由上海平明出版社出版;“文革”后由江苏人民出版社于1980年重新出版;1990年又由译林出版社再版。此后,杨苡译本还被多家出版社竞相出版、重印,经久不衰。她的译本曾在1986年获得1979-1986南京市作协首届金陵文学奖中唯一的翻译奖。1990年由译林出版社出版后,更是每年重印数万册,现有精装、平装和普及本三种版本,其中的精装本已被英国勃朗特纪念馆收藏。(勿罔,1995:32)译林版《呼啸山庄》杨苡译本曾获第七届全国优秀畅销书奖。杨苡本人认真负责、翻译严谨,她的译本行文流畅、简洁生动,体现了老一辈翻译家的翻译风范,本文选取其译本为主要分析对象。 本文以文学文体学为切入角度,从环境描写、人物塑造、人物对话和修辞方面入手,选取《呼啸山庄》原文中具有文体特色的表达方式,考察这些表达方式是否在译文中得以体现,其主题意义和审美价值是否实现,对杨苡译本进行分析和评论。
[Abstract]:Literary stylistics is a theory between linguistics and literature, which is a bridge between linguistics and literary criticism. It not only emphasizes the description of linguistics, but also emphasizes the interpretation of literary criticism. Integrating style and its effect into the study object, This paper attempts to use appropriate linguistic tools to describe and analyze the linguistic features of literary works which are helpful to express thematic meaning and enhance aesthetic effects and to explore their literary value. Literary Stylistics describes language forms at the same time. To discover the aesthetic significance of literary discourse, It is a bridge from subjectivity to objectivity in literary studies. Therefore, it is a litmus test of translation quality for literary translation and literary translation criticism. The application of literary stylistics to literary translation is helpful for translators to enhance their stylistic awareness, better grasp the thematic significance and aesthetic functions of language forms, and pay more attention to the interaction between form and content. At the same time, applying it to translation criticism can make comments more objective and avoid traditional subjective impressionistic and intuitive comments. In China, literary stylistics theory has been applied to the field of translation. There has been a combination of the two studies, but the research in this area is not enough. Wuthering Heights is the work of Emily Bronte, the British female writer, and her only novel. It is very different from her contemporaries, and it describes the intense love and hatred and the ruthless vengeance from it; it is like a strange lyric poem. Full of rich imagination and fierce emotion, it has a powerful artistic power. The research on it has a long history at home and abroad, and involves a wide range. Wuthering Heights has many translations in China. The study of its translation and introduction still needs to be further studied. The translation of Yang Yi was published by Shanghai Pingming Publishing House on 1955; after the Cultural Revolution was republished by Jiangsu people's Publishing House on 1980; and by Yilin Publishing House on 1990. After that, it was reprinted by Yilin Publishing House. Yang Yi's translation was also published and reprinted by several publishers for a long time. In 1986, she won the only translation award of the first Jinling Literature Award of Nanjing Writers Association in 1979-1986. After it was published by Yilin Publishing House in 1990, she reprinted tens of thousands of copies a year. There are three versions of hardcover, paperback and universal, of which the hardback edition has been collected by the Bronte Memorial Museum in Britain. (no use of 1995: 32) the translation of Yang Yi, the translation version of Wuthering Heights, was awarded the 7th National Best seller Award. Yang Yi himself was seriously responsible. The translation is rigorous, her translation is smooth, concise and vivid, which reflects the translation style of the older generation. This paper chooses her translation as the main object of analysis. From the perspective of literary stylistics, this paper begins with environmental description, character shaping, character dialogue and rhetoric, and selects the stylistic expression of Wuthering Heights. To investigate whether these expressions can be embodied in the translation, whether the thematic significance and aesthetic value are realized, and to analyze and comment on Yang Yi's translation.
