文学翻译中的文化意识差异——对《红楼梦》两个英译本的描述性对比研究

【摘要】：通过对《红楼梦》两个英译本部分章节的描述性统计分析,本研究旨在从共时角度考察同一历史时期不同民族文化语境下的译者意识形态与其翻译转换策略的关系,以期更全面、更深入探讨文化意识形态与翻译的关系。通过分析两位译者翻译转换策略的宏观倾向及各自在意识形态内容方面的具体体现,本研究发现:(1)受民族、时代文化意识及赞助人意识形态的影响,两位译者对翻译策略的选择呈现出明显不同倾向,杨宪益总体上倾向于"异化"的翻译策略,霍克斯明显倾向于"归化"策略。(2)两位译者各自的翻译策略在政治、宗教和伦理道德三个方面的倾向大体一致、均衡的同时仍存在分布方面的细微差异,表明了意识形态对译者翻译策略影响的复杂性、综合性。(3)社会文化意识对文学翻译转换策略的影响并不局限于"归化"、"异化"的二元结构。在这二元素之间,还存在其他中间策略,如"同化"、"淡化"等。
[Abstract]:Through the descriptive statistics of "a dream of Red Mansions" in two English versions of some chapters of the analysis, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of translators from the synchronic translation strategies of different ethnic ideology and cultural context of the same historical period under the view to a more comprehensive, more in-depth research on the relationship between cultural ideology and translation through the analysis of the two. Translators' translation strategies and their conversion macro tendency in the ideological content of the specific embodiment, the study found that: (1) the influence of age nation, cultural consciousness and patronage ideology, the two translators' choice of translation strategies show different tendencies, Yang Xianyi tends to "alienation" of translation strategies. Hawkes was in favour of domestication strategy. (2) the two translators' respective translation strategies in the political tendency of the three aspects of religion and ethics broadly consistent, balanced and there are still divided Subtle differences in cloth, shows the complexity of ideological influence on the translator's comprehensive. (3) the consciousness of social culture influence the transformation strategy of literary translation is not limited to "domestication", "two yuan structure alienation". Between these two elements, there are other intermediate strategies, such as "assimilation", "desalination".
