林纾的文学翻译活动与中国社会文化语境的互动

　　林纾（1852-1924），在清末民初从事西方文学的译介工作，是中国翻译史上一位既多产而又颇具影响力的译者。可他自身不懂任何外文，在翻译时全凭其合作者的口述。晚年，因其保守派的立场、对白话文的排斥及漏洞百出的翻译而受到猛烈的攻击。然而，他的不忠实的翻译却很受当时的读者欢迎，而且在当时的中国产生了巨大的社会反响和文化冲击。依照传统的翻译理论，遵照原文与译文的语言对比去衡量译文，是无法解释林纾这种独特的翻译现象的。为了能给这种翻译现象一个合理解释，本文探讨了林纾的文学翻译活动与当时社会文化语境的内在联系。 文章首先对本文的理论基础作了阐释。根据翻译研究学派的观点：翻译是一种受制于各种社会历史条件的过程。翻译研究应集中探讨那些社会规范和文学规范，它们构成了译入语文化，而且直接影响着翻译过程。笔者采用了这种观点作为本文的理论基础。具体来说，勒非弗尔提出的三要素：意识形态、赞助人和诗学环境被用作进行深入的分析。 随后文章对当时的中国社会文化语境进行了分析。在分析意识形态时，笔者是从政治与文化两个方面来探讨。同时，笔者认为意识形态也不是只由一种力量控制，它是一个合力，包括集体的、译者本...
