社会语言学视角下的中英文谚语中的性别歧视

【摘要】:众所周知,语言是社会的一面镜子,是对于社会传统风貌,民族风俗习惯和文化意识形态的真实反映。随着社会语言学,人类学以及社会心理学等学科的不断深入发展与研究,语言和性别的关系逐渐成为了一个热点讨论话题。人类语言存在着巨大的差异,语言中的性别差异是其中最为古老的差异。男性和女性对于语言的不同使用已引起人们的广泛关注,而同时这也是社会语言学以及人类学等学科中的一个极为重要的研究课题。在传统社会意识形态中,女性通常被认为是二等公民,地位极其低下。随着19世纪女权运动的蓬勃兴起,女性不仅取得了教育权,工作权等男性特有的权力,而且也开始致力于更正语言中的性别歧视现象。 谚语作为语言中的精华以及语言的一种特殊形式,是在特定文化背景下产生的意识形态的产物,更是浓缩了文化内涵。英国著名作家佩恩(1935)曾经说过:“民族的智慧在其谚语”。人们普遍认为谚语是特殊社会背景中人类经历和智慧的简练概括。Gibbs和Beitel把谚语比作“经验之子”和“智慧之果”。世界上约有四分之一的人在使用汉语,而汉语是至今仍然通用的最古老的语言之一。英语的使用者遍布全球各地,是联合国的工作语言之一,也是事实上的国际交流用语。因此,通过英汉谚语来研究性别歧视更具有广泛的代表性和强大的说服力。从女权主义的视角入手,研究英汉谚语中的性别歧视现象,也能从侧面反映出一个社会的意识形态以及风俗风貌。 本文的研究目的在于借助他人的理论以及研究成果,从七个不同的角度系统性的分析说明英汉谚语当中的性别歧视现象,找出造成英汉谚语中性别歧视的根源,以此来提高人们对于谚语以及生活中性别歧视现象的认识,深化对语言的认识,最终促成语言和社会的和谐发展,并为进一步深化研究提供一个较为有价值的基础。
[Abstract]:As we all know, language is a mirror of society and a true reflection of social traditions, customs, customs and cultural ideologies. With the further development and study of sociolinguistics, anthropology and social psychology, The relationship between language and gender has gradually become a hot topic of discussion. Gender differences in languages are the oldest of them. The different use of languages by men and women has attracted widespread attention. And it's also a very important subject in sociolinguistics and anthropology. In traditional social ideology, women are usually considered second-class citizens. In 19th century, with the vigorous rise of the feminist movement, women not only acquired the right to education, the right to work and other male-specific rights, but also began to work to correct gender discrimination in language. As the essence of language and a special form of language, proverbs are the product of ideology in a particular cultural context. "the wisdom of a nation lies in its proverbs". It is generally accepted that proverbs are a succinct generalization of human experience and wisdom in a special social context. Gibbs and Beitel compare proverbs to proverbs. "the son of experience" and "the Fruit of Wisdom." about 1/4 people in the world use Chinese, And Chinese is one of the oldest languages still spoken today. English is spoken all over the world, is one of the working languages of the United Nations and is also a de facto international language. The study of sexism by English and Chinese proverbs is more representative and persuasive. From the perspective of feminism, this paper studies the phenomenon of sexism in English and Chinese proverbs. It also reflects the ideology and customs of a society. The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze the sexism in English and Chinese proverbs from seven different angles with the help of other people's theories and research results, and find out the root causes of sexism in English and Chinese proverbs. In order to improve people's understanding of proverbs and sexism in life, deepen the understanding of language, and ultimately promote the harmonious development of language and society, and provide a more valuable foundation for further research.
