认知视角下新闻漫画的语篇分析

【摘要】:语篇分析是语言学的一个重要组成部分,但传统上主要专注于语言文字。随着社会和科技的发展,图像、声音等也逐渐成为传达语篇意义的重要媒介,,所以语篇分析也应提升到多模态层面。多模态语篇指由至少两种表达意义的符号系统组成的语篇,如图像和文字组成的漫画,值得深入研究。 根据不同主题,漫画可被分为三类:新闻漫画,娱乐漫画和广告漫画。其中,新闻漫画有最强大的影响力,它从本质上讲,是一种新闻报道或评论,关注国内外大事,以幽默诙谐的方式把政治观点巧妙地传递给大众。新闻漫画虽然在民众中有很强的影响力,但语言学界对其重视不够。目前,多模态研究主要集中在广告或海报上,很少涉及新闻漫画,有的也只是应用分析,将其当作另一种广告或海报来分析,缺少理论框架,忽视其自身的特点。基于此,本文构建象征整合模型来描述新闻漫画的意义构建过程,从认知语言学角度出发,通过象征理论和概念整合理论,试对新闻漫画做一个系统全面合理的意义分析。 本文根据皮尔斯符号学理论,认为象征是一种人为的,任意的或约定俗成的符号,用来指代某个事物。新闻漫画中的图像符号,根据文化或上下文,均可解读为另一种事物,因此可以定义为象征。通过分析图像的象征意义我们可以获得新闻漫画的图像意义。新闻漫画中的文字在语篇中分量不大,扮演的只是信息凸显的角色。图像意义和文字意义结合构成漫画要传递的语篇意义,而这常又与人们正常的价值体系做出的判断相矛盾,二者通过概念整合,矛盾发生碰撞,形成新闻漫画的新创意义,达到幽默讽刺的效果。象征整合模型是一个把象征概念融合到概念整合的理论,它保留了概念整合的完整结构,细化了新闻漫画的整合过程。本文选取了100幅新闻漫画作为封闭语料,并根据内容将其分为国家内政治社会事件、国家间政治社会事件、经济发展及战争与和平四个类别。本文依类选取四幅新闻漫画作为代表,对象征整合模型进行了验证。研究表明,该模型可以对所有的新闻漫画的意义构建过程做出合理的解释。 本文基于认知语言学,构建象征整合模型解读新闻漫画语篇意义,发展了概念整合理论,拓宽了其在多模态语篇分析中的解释力,同时也为新闻漫画的意义解读提供了新视角。
[Abstract]:Discourse analysis is an important part of linguistics, but traditionally it is mainly focused on language and writing. With the development of society and technology, image and sound have become important media to convey the meaning of discourse. Therefore, discourse analysis should also be promoted to a multi-modal level. Multimodal discourse refers to a text consisting of at least two symbolic systems of meaning, such as cartoons composed of images and characters, which are worthy of further study. According to different themes, comics can be divided into three categories: news comics, entertainment comics and advertising comics. Among them, news comics have the most powerful influence. In essence, they are news reports or commentaries that focus on major events at home and abroad. The political point of view is skillfully conveyed to the public in a humorous and witty way. Although news cartoons have a strong influence among the public, they are not given enough attention by the linguists. At present, multi-modal studies are mainly focused on advertisements or posters. News cartoons are rarely involved, and some are just applied analysis, which is analyzed as another kind of advertisement or poster, lacking a theoretical framework and neglecting its own characteristics. This paper constructs a symbolic integration model to describe the meaning construction process of news comics. From the perspective of cognitive linguistics and through symbolic theory and conceptual integration theory, this paper tries to make a systematic, comprehensive and reasonable analysis of the meaning of news comics. In this paper, according to Pierce's semiotic theory, symbolism is a man-made, arbitrary or conventional symbol used to refer to something. The image symbol in a news cartoon can be interpreted as something else according to culture or context. So it can be defined as symbolism. By analyzing the symbolic meaning of an image, we can get the image meaning of a news cartoon. The text in a news cartoon is of little importance in a text. The image meaning and the text meaning combine to form the text meaning which the cartoon wants to transmit, and this often contradicts with the judgment made by the normal value system of people, they collide with each other through the concept integration. The symbolic integration model is a theory of integrating symbolic concepts into conceptual integration, which preserves the complete structure of conceptual integration. This paper selects 100 news comics as closed corpus and divides them into political and social events within countries and political and social events among countries according to their contents. Four categories of economic development, war and peace. This paper selects four news cartoons as the representative, and verifies the symbolic integration model. The model can explain the meaning of all news comics reasonably. Based on cognitive linguistics, this paper constructs a symbolic integration model to interpret the meaning of news comic text, develops the theory of conceptual integration and broadens its explanatory power in multi-modal discourse analysis. At the same time, it also provides a new perspective for the interpretation of the significance of news comics.
