英维数字习语对比研究

【摘要】:习语是在任何语言中都存在的一种特殊语言单位。人类在语言交际活动中,习语起着不可忽视的作用。它以最简单的形式,最少的词语来表达丰富的内容和深刻的意义。习语是人类在长期以来所经历和积累的知识和认知的直接表达。它具有强烈的文化色彩,是理解民族文化的最好桥梁。使用习语一方面可以让人们的交流更顺利,另一方面也能反映一个民族的历史背景、思维模式、风俗习惯等因素。长期以来,国内外研究习语的语言学家和其研究成果不可胜数。但以前的研究方法侧重于习语的分类,结构和应用,忽略习语所表达的文化内涵。关于习语研究,特别是从文化角度对数字习语进行比较系统地对比研究很少。 本研究以英维数字习语为研究对象,从文化和语言角度,采用定量和定性分析法对英维数字习语进行对比研究,试图回答以下四个研究问题:1)英维数字习语在数字的文化内涵上有何异同点?2)英维数字习语在语音上有何异同点?3)英维数字习语在修辞方式上有何异同点?4)产生异同点的原因是哪些?本文中分析使用的习语都来自英语和维语习语词典上筛选的语料。下面是该论文的研究发现。 1)在数字习语中的数字文化内涵方面,英语和维语习语中的数字“一”,“二”,“四”,“七”,“百”,,“千”等六个数字拥有相同的文化内涵。在差异方面,英语和维语习语中的数字“三”,“六”,“九”,“十”等四个数字拥有不同的文化内涵。 2)在语音上的异同点方面:两种数字习语中都有头韵,叠韵和尾韵等语音修辞手法。在差异方面,英语头韵时常常发生在辅音上,很少在元音上。维语在头韵时常常发生在元音上,而很少在辅音上。 3)在修辞方面,英维语都有隐喻,夸张,借代,委婉等修辞方式。修辞上两种语言中存在着较大的相似性。 4)不同文化因素导致了数字的不同文化内涵,影响大的几个因素有生活环境,社会风俗,历史事件等。相同点的原因主要是因为人类的认知模式具有相似性。语音上的差异是英语和维吾尔语内在的语言差异而导致的。这主要表现在维语具有元音协调的现象,而英语无类此语言现象。 本论文的研究成果将会对外语教学,尤其是习语的教与学具有重要的作用和启示意义。此外,对英语和维语翻译实践也有一定的应用性。研究成果能够帮助译者运用适当的翻译技巧来翻译英维习语,同时有益于减少英维两个民族在跨文化交际中所产生的误会。
[Abstract]:Idioms are a special unit of language that exists in any language. Idioms play an important role in human language communication. It expresses rich content and profound meaning in the simplest form and in the least number of words. Idioms are the direct expression of knowledge and cognition that human beings have experienced and accumulated for a long time. It has a strong cultural color, is the best bridge to understand national culture. On the one hand, the use of idioms can make people's communication more smooth, on the other hand, it can also reflect the historical background, thinking patterns, customs and habits of a nation. For a long time, linguists at home and abroad have studied idioms and their achievements are innumerable. However, previous research methods focus on the classification, structure and application of idioms, ignoring the cultural connotations expressed by idioms. There are few studies on idioms, especially the comparative study of digital idioms from a cultural point of view. This study takes the English numeral idiom as the research object, from the culture and the language angle, uses the quantitative and the qualitative analysis method carries on the contrast research to the English dimension numeral idiom. Try to answer the following four research questions: (1) what are the similarities and differences in the cultural connotations of the English numeral idioms? (2) what are the similarities and differences in the pronunciation of the English numeral idioms? (3) what are the similarities and differences in the rhetorical means of the English numeral idioms? What are the reasons for the similarities and differences? The idioms used in this paper are collected from English and Uygur idiom dictionaries. The following are the findings of the paper. 1) in terms of the connotation of digital culture in digital idioms, the six numbers in English and Uygur idioms "one", "two", "four", "seven", "hundred" and "thousand" have the same cultural connotation. In terms of differences, the numbers "three", "six", "nine" and "ten" in English and Uygur idioms have different cultural connotations. 2) the similarities and differences in pronunciation: both numerical idioms have phonetics such as alliteration, repetition rhyme and final rhyme. In terms of differences, English alliteration often occurs on consonants and rarely on vowels. Uyghur often occurs on vowels in alliteration, but rarely on consonants. 3) in rhetoric, English and Uygur have metaphor, exaggeration, metonymy, euphemism and so on. There is a great similarity in rhetoric between the two languages. 4) different cultural factors lead to different cultural connotations of numbers, and several factors have great influence on the living environment, social customs, historical events and so on. The main reason for the similarities is that human cognitive patterns are similar. The phonetic difference is caused by the internal language difference between English and Uygur. This is mainly reflected in the phenomenon of vowel harmony in Uygur, but no such phenomenon in English. The research results of this thesis will play an important and enlightening role in foreign language teaching, especially idiom teaching and learning. In addition, English and Uygur translation practice also has some application. The results of the study can help translators to use appropriate translation techniques to translate English and Uygur idioms, and at the same time help to reduce misunderstanding between English and Uygur peoples in cross-cultural communication.
