基于关联理论的汉英语码混合现象研究

【摘要】:随着全球化和现代化的趋势,不同民族之间的语言接触变得更为频繁。因此,语码混合产生了。现如今,很多中国人经常将汉语和英语混合使用,这就是“汉英语码混合”现象,许多学者已经研究了这一现象产生的原因、形式以及影响。然而,到目前为止,从认知角度对出版物中汉英语码混合现象的研究尚不多。关联理论是将交际与认知相结合的理论,为出版物中汉英语码混合的研究提供了新的视角。鉴于此,结合前人的研究成果,笔者选取香港杂志中的汉英语码混合为研究对象。 通过研究,笔者发现香港杂志中汉英语码混合的一些特点:第一,汉英语码混合多出现在目标读者为年轻人的杂志中,而很少出现在目标读者是年长人的杂志中。第二,汉英语码混合在一些轻松和自由的栏目话题中出现较多,然而在一些严肃和正式的栏目话题中出现较少。第三,香港杂志中汉英语码混合的使用取决于不同杂志栏目作者的不同策略,目地是为了吸引不同年龄、生活背景、生活品味和兴趣的读者。此外,香港杂志中汉英语码混合现象产生的原因主要是:认知策略的需要、认知语境的制约和认知能力的协同。第一,汉英语码混合的产生是认知策略的需要,包括迎合心理需求、语言经济效用最大化、填补语言空白、增强语言优雅以及避免文化尴尬。第二,汉英语码混合的产生受到交际双方互明的认知语境制约。第三,汉英语码混合的产生还由于交际双方认知能力的协同,交际双方都为寻找最佳关联。因此,汉英语码混合的产生是杂志作者和读者在特定的认知语境制约中,,通过激活自身认知能力而使用的一种认知策略,目的是为了达到最佳关联的效果。 本文由六部分组成。第一章概述本文的研究背景和动机,以及研究目的和重要性。第二章文献回顾包括两方面。第一方面对文中出现的关键术语定义,包括语码,语码混合和汉英语码混合。第二方面对语码混合在国内外的研究成果进行回顾。第三章是介绍本文的理论框架。第四章和第五章为本文的主体。第四章是研究设计,包括研究问题、工具、数据收集和数据处理。第五章为结果和讨论。笔者发现了香港杂志中汉英语码混合的特点以及其生成的原因。第六章为结论部分。包括本研究的一些发现以及本研究的不足和对未来研究的建议。
[Abstract]:With the trend of globalization and modernization, language contact between different ethnic groups becomes more frequent. As a result, code-mixing occurs. Nowadays, many Chinese people often mix Chinese and English, which is the phenomenon of "Chinese-English code mixing". Many scholars have studied the causes, forms and effects of this phenomenon. However, up to now, there are few researches on the mixture of Chinese and English codes in publications from the perspective of cognition. Relevance theory, which combines communication with cognition, provides a new perspective for the study of Chinese-English codes in publications. In view of this, combined with the previous research results, the author chooses the Chinglish code mixing in Hong Kong magazine as the research object. Through the research, the author finds some characteristics of Chinese-English code mixing in Hong Kong magazines. Firstly, Chinese-English code mixing appears mostly in magazines whose target readers are young people, but rarely in magazines where the target readers are older people. Second, the Chinese-English code mix in some easy and free column topics more, but in some serious and formal column topics appear less. Thirdly, the use of Chinese-English codes in Hong Kong magazines depends on the different strategies of the writers of different magazines. The purpose is to attract readers of different ages, backgrounds, tastes and interests. In addition, the main reasons for this phenomenon are the need of cognitive strategies, the restriction of cognitive context and the synergy of cognitive ability. First, the production of Chinese-English codes is the need of cognitive strategies, including catering to psychological needs, maximizing the economic utility of language, filling language gaps, enhancing language elegance and avoiding cultural embarrassment. Second, the production of Chinese-English code mixing is restricted by the mutual clear cognitive context. Third, the combination of Chinese and English codes is also due to the synergy of cognitive competence between the two parties, and both parties seek for the best relevance. Therefore, the generation of Chinese-English code-mixing is a cognitive strategy used by magazine writers and readers to activate their cognitive abilities in a specific cognitive context, in order to achieve the best relevance effect. This paper consists of six parts. The first chapter summarizes the research background and motivation of this paper, as well as the purpose and importance of the research. Chapter II literature review includes two aspects. The first aspect is the definition of key terms in this paper, including code-mixing, code-mixing and Chinese-English code-mixing. The second aspect reviews the research results of code-mixing at home and abroad. The third chapter is to introduce the theoretical framework of this paper. The fourth and fifth chapters are the main body of this paper. The fourth chapter is the research design, including research problems, tools, data collection and data processing. The fifth chapter is the result and discussion. The author finds out the characteristics of Chinese-English code mixing in Hong Kong magazines and the reasons for its formation. Chapter six is the conclusion. Including some findings of this study, as well as the shortcomings of this study and suggestions for future research.
