国内外高校网站主页校长欢迎辞的体裁对比分析

【摘要】:从亚里士多德时期开始,文学、修辞学、哲学等领域的体裁分析就已经受到关注并被学者广泛研究。然而,直到近几十年,人们对体裁分析在非文学领域的研究兴趣才渐浓。本文试图融合Swales(斯维尔斯)和Bhatia(巴提亚)提出的语步分析理论和韩礼德提出的系统功能语言学中的元功能理论来创建一个新的体裁分析模式,并运用该模式对国内外高校网站主页上的校长欢迎辞从体裁的宏观结构和体裁微观语言特征两个方面做分析对比。 通过这一模式的分析,在体裁的宏观结构方面,本文发现网站主页上校长欢迎辞这一体裁包含篇首欢迎语、学校总体评价、学校建立背景、学校功能和优势、学校的国际化、学校取得的成绩、学校使命、作者感言、篇尾再次表示欢迎、校长签字十个语步。在国内外网站主页校长欢迎辞的语步对比中,我们还发现,虽然二者的总体语步差不多,但是在实现每个语步上所采用的步骤,策略却有比较大的差异。 在体裁的微观语言特征方面,本文采用了系统功能语言理论来揭示校长欢迎辞体裁的语言特征,系统功能语言学框架对于全面理解体裁中的意义符号,为实现语篇交际目的而精选的词汇语法,有着重要意义。具体来说,本文运用了系统功能语言学中实现概念意义和人际意义的两个系统,即及物系统,语气情态系统,以及语气情态系统的发展--评价系统,来研究国内外高校校长欢迎辞的语言特征。这一研究发现,该体裁主要运用了物质过程,关系过程和心理过程来实现概念意义,情态动词在文中很少出现,国外校长欢迎辞多使用一般现在时态而在国内校长欢迎辞中,完成时态和将来时态出现的频率要高于国外。大量正面的名词,动词被用于这一体裁来实现对学校的评价。这些分析有助于全面解释,高校校长为了实现欢迎辞的概念意义和人际意义,是如何选择与该体裁语境和交际目的相适应的词汇语法的。最后,本文还发现,通过元功能理论分析的语言特征,其分布与语步的结构有着一定的关联。 本文的研究意义有1)本文的研究成果有助于人们对长期被忽略却在宣传高校方面有重要作用的校长欢迎辞有全面的了解;2)本文对高校校长欢迎辞的宏观体裁结构和实现体裁结构的语言特征做了详细的研究和分析,这对中国高校撰写同一体裁有着实用性的指导,从更高层次上来说,这也有助于促进高校的跨文化学术交流;3)本文把语步分析理论与系统功能语言学理论结合起来进行体裁分析,是体裁分析领域中的新尝试,是对体裁分析的补充和丰富。
[Abstract]:Since the Aristotle period, genre analysis in literature, rhetoric, philosophy and other fields has been concerned and widely studied by scholars. However, it is not until recent decades that interest in genre analysis in the field of non-literary studies has grown. This paper attempts to create a new genre analysis model by combining the theory of step analysis proposed by Swales and Bhatia (Bhatia) and the meta-functional theory of systemic functional linguistics proposed by Halliday. This model is used to analyze and compare the welcome speech of principals on the home page of colleges and universities at home and abroad from two aspects: the macro structure of genre and the characteristics of genre and micro language. Through the analysis of this model, in the macro structure of the genre, this paper finds that the welcome speech of the principal on the website home page includes the first welcoming language, the overall evaluation of the school, the background of the school establishment, the function and advantage of the school, and the internationalization of the school. School achievements, school mission, the author's speech, welcome again at the end of the article, the principal signed ten steps. In the comparison of the welcome speech of home school principals at home and abroad, we also find that although the two have similar overall steps, the strategies used to implement each step are quite different. In terms of the microcosmic linguistic features of genre, this paper adopts the theory of systemic functional language to reveal the linguistic characteristics of the welcome speech genre of the principal, and the framework of systemic functional linguistics can be used to fully understand the meaning symbols in the genre. The choice of lexical grammar for the purpose of text communication is of great significance. Specifically, this paper uses two systems in systemic functional linguistics to realize conceptual meaning and interpersonal meaning, namely transitivity system, modal system, and the development-evaluation system of modal system. To study the language characteristics of welcoming speeches of university presidents at home and abroad. This study found that the genre mainly uses material process, relationship process and psychological process to realize the conceptual meaning, modal verbs rarely appear in the text, and the foreign principals' welcoming words mostly use the general present tense and the domestic principals' welcoming speeches. The frequency of the perfect tense and the future tense is higher than that of abroad. A large number of positive nouns and verbs are used in this genre to achieve school evaluation. These analyses are helpful to the comprehensive explanation of how college presidents choose the lexical grammar suitable to the genre context and communicative purpose in order to realize the conceptual and interpersonal meaning of the welcome speech. Finally, it is found that the linguistic features analyzed by meta-functional theory are related to the structure of language step. The research results of this paper are helpful for people to have a comprehensive understanding of the welcome speech of the president who has been neglected for a long time but plays an important role in publicizing colleges and universities; 2) this paper makes a detailed research and analysis on the macro genre structure and the linguistic characteristics of realizing the genre structure of the welcome speech of university presidents, which has practical guidance for the writing of the same genre in Chinese colleges and universities, and on a higher level, This paper combines the theory of step analysis with the theory of systemic functional linguistics for genre analysis, which is a new attempt in the field of genre analysis and a complement and enrichment to genre analysis.
