意识形态操纵下的外宣翻译

【摘要】:随着经济全球化步伐不断加快,各行各业的发展都离不开对外宣传,对外宣传的重要性日益凸显。中国的稳步发展,需要搞好对外宣传工作,外宣翻译的重要性和必要性不言而喻。然而,目前外宣翻译中却存在诸多问题,主要是由于译者在做外宣翻译时老是遵循“忠实”、“对等”等传统的翻译标准,过分强调语言层面的转换分析,从而忽略了外宣翻译本身的特殊性以及文本外的文化语境对它的影响。这表现为源语文本的选择,翻译过程中译者对同一文本的不同理解、不同翻译策略和具体的翻译技巧的运用,以及目的语读者的接受和拒绝进行合理解释的考量。外宣翻译质量相对低下的状况,外宣翻译研究的相对滞后,跟不上国家对外宣传总体战略发展的需要,正是基于这一点,本文尝试从意识形态操纵的视角系统地探讨外宣翻译。 意识形态由操纵学派代表勒弗维尔引入了翻译界,他提出了“翻译即改写”、“改写即操纵”的思想,认为翻译并非在两种语言的真空中进行的,而是历史、社会与文化的产物。作为有自己独特特点和特定目标的外宣翻译来说,作为文化和政治的翻译的一种形式,必然受到意识形态的操纵。本文首先对外宣翻译的发展历史及现状做了论述,并对外宣的文本类型和特点及外宣翻译的目的和原则进行了全面的阐述。在此基础上,本文以勒弗维尔的操纵理论为指导,采用定性研究和个案分析相结合的研究方法,分析了意识形态对外宣翻译全过程的操纵,其中包括意识形态对译前文本选择的操纵,对译中对原文本的理解,翻译过程中翻译策略选择、解码过程中具体翻译技巧的选择的操纵,以及译后目的语读者对译本的接受的操纵的考量。本文提出了外宣翻译的基本策略,即适度的归化和异化,并在此基础上,提出了对于不同的文本类型应采用不同的具体的翻译技巧。本文中具体的翻译技巧,主要包括删除,增加,直译以及替换。因此,从意识形态对外宣翻译的全面的操纵进行研究,有助于揭示外宣翻译的本质及内在规律,提高外宣翻译质量。 但值得注意的是,意识形态的操纵作用是相对的,如果过分强调意识形态的操纵从而忽视了翻译的本体研究,就会出现适得其反的结果。因此,作者认为意识形态作为外宣翻译中不容忽视的重要因素,译者必须对外宣翻译中的意识形态操纵要有清醒的认识,并作出恰当的选择。最后,指出了本研究中存在的不足,为以后的研究指明可能的研究方向。
[Abstract]:With the accelerating pace of economic globalization, the development of various industries can not be separated from external propaganda, the importance of external publicity is becoming increasingly prominent. China's steady development needs to do a good job in foreign propaganda, the importance and necessity of translation is self-evident. However, at present, there are many problems in the translation of foreign propaganda, mainly because the translator always follows the traditional translation standards such as "faithfulness" and "equivalence" when doing the translation of foreign propaganda, and overemphasizes the translation analysis at the linguistic level. Therefore, it ignores the particularity of the translation and the influence of the cultural context outside the text. This is manifested by the choice of the source text, the translator's different understanding of the same text during the translation process, the use of different translation strategies and specific translation techniques, as well as the consideration of the acceptance and refusal of the target language reader to make reasonable explanations. The quality of foreign publicity translation is relatively low, and the study of foreign propaganda translation is lagging behind, which can not keep up with the need of the overall strategic development of the country's foreign propaganda. Based on this point, this paper attempts to systematically explore the translation of foreign propaganda from the perspective of ideological manipulation. Ideology was introduced into the field of translation by Lefevere, the representative of the manipulative school. He put forward the idea of "translation is rewriting" and "rewriting is manipulation". He holds that translation is not carried out in the vacuum of two languages, but in history. The product of society and culture As a form of cultural and political translation, it is bound to be manipulated by ideology. This paper first discusses the history and present situation of the translation of foreign publicity, and expounds the types and characteristics of the text and the purpose and principle of the translation of foreign publicity. On the basis of this, this paper, guided by Levell's manipulation theory, adopts the method of combining qualitative research with case analysis to analyze the manipulation of ideology in the whole process of translation of foreign propaganda. This includes the manipulation of ideology in pre-translation text selection, the understanding of the original text in the translation process, the selection of translation strategies in the translation process, and the manipulation of the selection of specific translation techniques in the process of decoding. As well as the posttranslational target language readers' manipulation of the acceptance of the translation. In this paper, the author puts forward the basic strategies of foreign translation, that is, moderate domestication and alienation, and puts forward that different translation techniques should be adopted for different text types. The specific translation techniques in this paper include deletion, addition, literal translation and substitution. Therefore, it is helpful to reveal the essence and internal law of foreign publicity translation and to improve the quality of foreign propaganda translation by studying the comprehensive manipulation of ideology. However, it is worth noting that the manipulation of ideology is relative. If too much emphasis is placed on the manipulation of ideology and the ontological study of translation is neglected, the results will be counterproductive. Therefore, the author holds that ideology is an important factor which can not be ignored in the translation of foreign propaganda, and the translator must have a clear understanding of the manipulation of ideology in the translation of foreign propaganda and make a proper choice. Finally, the deficiency of this study is pointed out, which points out the possible research direction for the future research.
