社会语言学视角下的网络自称语

【摘要】：随着网络在日常交际中扮演越来越重要的角色，网络称谓如x哥, x姐等频繁出现，并在日常交际中流行起来。这些称谓语已被用来研究网络称谓语与社会的关系。作为最常见的网络称呼语，网名的研究为揭示语言与社会的关系提供了新视角。本文采用定量和定性的方法，从社会内部因素(社会变量)和外部因素（社会环境）分析网名与社会的关系。研究者选取了北京，上海，黑龙江，西藏等几座典型的东西南北城市，用电脑随意从中抽取400名网民（男女各占一半），以他们的网名和背景资料为研究对象，概括网络自称的特征，再结合图表数据分析影响网络自称的社会变量。同时，本文结合了演绎和推断研究手法确定影响网络自称的社会变量。首先，研究者假设社会语言学中常见变量年龄，性别，地域和教育背景为网络自称的社会变量。然后用收集到的数据和例子逐个证明。最后，作者了使用沃夫假设和杨永林的语境过滤理论解释网络自称如何在社会大环境中被赋予了社会意义。通过分析，本文发现网络称谓表面看似具有随意性和动态性，其中却有规律可寻，网名的主要类别有特殊符号（火星文）、外文符号、自然事物（植物，天空，白云等）、数字、情感（家庭和个人）、生活(工作和爱好)等。本文还发现常见的社会变量性别，年龄，地域,教育背景也影响网络自称。男性的自称大多或是表达做事业的决心，或是为他们的工作打广告；而女性更喜欢与外貌，家庭，感情相关的词语；年龄较小的网民喜欢使用与感情相关的词汇，年龄较大的则喜欢与家庭，事业相关的词汇；网民居住的地域环境，政治因素和经济条件都能影响网络自称的选择。北方的网民喜欢使用雪，腊梅等字自称，而南方的网民则会使用海，海鸥等，发达城市的网民更倾向于用开放性词汇如火星文，英文等自称；教育背景也能影响网络自称。研究表明，教育程度不会决定网名的选择，但是所修专业能影响自称。比如，外语专业的人会更多使用英文自称。本文的研究还证实了网络自称与社会准则和文化有着密切关系。性别变量反映社会准则，即：中国社会里，男性约定俗成地需要一份成功的事业养家糊口。另外，年龄变量分析可发现儒家文化深深植根于中国，即：二十弱冠、三十而立、四十为惑。五十而知天命,六十花甲。地域因素反应社会制度。发达城市由于政策更为开放，经济更为发达，网名的使用也更开放。通过对外部因素的分析发现，网络自称与社会环境相关、社会氛围、社会意识都会影响网名的选择，，在选择网名的同时，网络自称在社会环境中已被赋予了社会意义，即：年龄较小的网民希望通过使用新鲜词汇融入网络文化。以上研究发现揭示了网络称谓与社会的关系的相对性，即：从社会变量影响网名的语言变量和语言变量反映社会文化方面，可得出社会影响语言，语言反应社会。
