A Comparative Study of Multimodal Metaphorical Representatio

本研究从《人民日报》和《纽约时报》官方网站上选取最新的新闻漫画作为语料样本,旨在对比中外新闻漫画中所含隐喻的表征类型,将隐喻研究从语言模态延伸至非语言模态。本研究基于概念隐喻理论和多模态隐喻理论,采用定性与定量相结合的方法。对比分析结果表明《人民日报》和《纽约时报》的新闻漫画的隐喻模态配置方式之间存在许多相同之处和不同之处。首先,在《人民日报》和《纽约时报》的新闻漫画中,都发现了四种主要的模态配置模式:跨模态映射,单模态映射,多模态映射和隐含映射。其次,在四种主要的模态配置方式中,跨模态映射无论在《人民日报》还是《纽约时报》中所占比例都最大。但是,在《人民日报》的新闻漫画中,跨模态映射的比例为50.8%,为主导性的映射类型。而在《纽约时报》的新闻漫画中,跨模态映射和单模态映射比例分别为33.1%和30.7%,这两者共为主导性的映射类型。最后,从平均每幅漫画中所包含的隐喻的数量来看,《人民日报》中包含多于一个隐喻的漫画数量要多于《纽约时报》。本文具有一定的理论意义和实践意义。一方面,本研究进一步证实了多模态隐喻相关研究成果的可行性和解释力。另一方面,本研究也为国内外漫画家和新闻界的漫画创...
