《时代周刊》“人物侧面报道”专栏的评价资源研究

本论文以评价系统为理论框架,通过对《时代周刊》“人物侧面报道”专栏的评价资源分析,旨在找出:评价资源在“人物侧面报道”中的分布特征,如何使用评价资源来建构评价意义以协商作者与读者之间的立场;以及探讨对英语阅读与写作教学的启示。韩礼德的系统功能语言学为话语分析提供了一个多功能的理论框架,但忽视了对对话人的赋值语义的研究,即对说话者的感情,对事件的判断（态度）和对语言对象价值意义的研究。詹姆士·马丁在二十世纪九十年代初注意到了这一盲点,在系统功能语言学的基础上提出了评价系统的理论,进一步发展了系统功能语言学。评价系统是由态度系统﹑介入系统和级差系统所构成。态度次系统化为情感﹑判断和鉴赏;介入次系统化为自言和借言;级差次系统化为语势和聚焦。评价系统能被用于评价语言使用者的立场﹑观点和态度。在评价系统框架下进行的话语分析重点在于对词汇层评价功能的研究。评价系统已被广泛应用于新闻语篇分析,但至今还未被应用到英文人物侧面报道中。本文对7篇《时代周刊》上的“人物侧面报道”进行了定性分析,并辅以定量方面的数据统计,以说明评价资源的分布规律。通过数据分析发现,“人物侧面报道”语篇中存在着丰富的态度和介入...
