从后殖民理论视角看《骆驼祥子》伊文·金译本的文化流失

传统的翻译研究视翻译为语言转换,侧重于翻译文本和原语文本的对照比较,看其忠实与否。但翻译毕竟不是简单的语言之间的文字转换,尤其是文字翻译。于是翻译理论家们就开始寻求其他的新的理论来支持翻译理论的发展,而其中最具影响力的莫过于翻译的文化视角。后殖民翻译理论从后殖民视角考查不同历史条件下的翻译行为,关注隐藏在译文背后的文化之间的权力斗争和权力运作,认为强势文化与弱势文化之间存在着权力差异,这两种文化之间从来就没有过任何平等对话。权力差异作为后殖民翻译研究的中心,主要表现为强势文化和弱势文化之间在翻译活动上的不平等。作为强势文化和其译者,往往会漠视弱势文化和文本,在翻译上主要就体现为对文本选择和翻译策略等的强势,一味地满足本国读者,而视原语文化予不顾。在翻译中,异化使得源语言的异域性最大限度地得到保留,译文读起来必然就像译著。归化是一种截然相反的方法,意味着消除源文本中的一切陌生感和异域感,使译文读起来像原著。但归化不利于文化的有效传播,常常以文化流失为代价。老舍是中国现代文学的杰出代表。幽默、讽刺、生动的描写和浓郁的地方色彩使其作品脍炙人口。由于老舍的特殊地位,对其人和作品的研究方兴未艾。...
