委婉语的三维视角研究

　　委婉语是指人们在谈论某事时发现别人感到不快或局促不安时所使用的礼貌的词或表达方式。它起源于人类文明早期对语言的崇拜，并发展成为协调人际关系的一种重要手段。从古至今，尤其是近几十年来，许多不同背景的学者从不同的视角对委婉语的语义特征以及语用和社会功能做了广泛而细致的研究。虽然他们的研究成果对日后该领域的研究具有极大地启发性，却没有能够从一种综合的角度展现委婉语三个平面即语义、语用和语法的内在关系。因此，作者认为对委婉语进行综合视角的研究是必要的而且可行的。本文依据三个平面理论，采用对比和历史的方法对几种语言，特别是英语和汉语中大量的委婉语进行三维视角研究，在委婉语的语义特征、语用功能和语法形式等方面取得了一些重要的发现。在语义方面，研究发现委婉语的语义体现出模糊性，升格及降格等特征，并包括内涵义、社会义、感情义和搭配义。然而，委婉语的意义不是静止不变的，在不同的语境中，委婉语可用来发挥回避功能、礼貌功能、掩盖事实功能及优雅功能。进一步的考察显示委婉语的语法形式不是单质的，相反，言语者可使用不同的语法方式来构造委婉语。文章还对近年来汉语中出现的一类新委婉结构进行了个案研究，这些委婉结构来源...
