论概念隐喻与人的体验的关系

传统隐喻理论仅把隐喻看做是一种语言现象。而自从莱考夫和约翰逊1980年出版了他们的著作《我们赖以生存的》以来,更多语言学家认同了隐喻是一种认知现象。莱考夫的概念隐喻理论认为人们的概念系统从本质上来说是隐喻性的,概念系统的隐喻性决定了人们语言及行为的隐喻性。在概念隐喻理论中,隐喻指代一种从源域到目标域的映射关系。而先前被称为隐喻的语言应被称为隐喻性表达。他们同隐喻性的行为,隐喻性的标识一样都是概念系统隐喻性的反映。因此可以说莱考夫的概念隐喻理论是革命性的。莱考夫概念隐喻的哲学基础是经验主义,经验主义不同于主观主义和客观主义把客观因素或主观因素绝对化,而是强调了人对于客观事物的理解。经验主义认为,人对客观事物的理解有直接的理解和间接的理解两种。而以体验为基础的隐喻是人们理解抽象概念的主要手段。人的体验与隐喻形成固定关系有两种方式。一种是把体验抽象为体验格式塔或者意象图示,比如方向隐喻,容器隐喻等常规隐喻。另一种是基于人的某些体验的同现关系。如“爱是温暖”这一隐喻就是建立在儿童在母亲温暖怀抱中同时得到爱这一体验中。这类隐喻经常是结构隐喻或新隐喻。新奇隐喻性表达都是建立在已有的结构隐喻上的,因...
