从目的论看外宣资料翻译中的译者主体性发挥

2009年10月24日,历时五天的中国-东盟博览会在南宁圆满落下帷幕。本次博览会的贸易总额又创新高。作为企业,如何能在博览会中更好地宣传自己,提高产品的知名度并顺利进入国际市场,对外宣传资料起着举足轻重的作用;而对外宣传资料的翻译也由此更加值得关注。然而,从现有的对外宣传资料中不难看出,措词使用不当、语法错误、“中式英语”以及暗含的文化冲突等问题在翻译中比比皆是,不但削弱了对外宣传的效果,对企业的自身形象也有所影响。因此,如何更好地发挥译者主体性从而提高外宣资料的翻译质量十分重要。本文从该研究的背景、意义及框架等内容出发,简要综述了译者的地位在中西方翻译历史中逐渐得到提升的过程。本研究发现,在最初的翻译历史过程中,译者的主体性已经得到部分学者的认可,而并非完全被原文本所“隐没”;之后结合对功能主义目的论在西方以及在中国发展情况的概述,作者指出,功能主义目的论强调翻译是一种有目的行为,译者可根据译文的预期功能与目的选择适当的翻译方法与策略。作为原文读者、描述者与译文作者的译者从传统翻译理论的“绝对忠诚”中解放出来并被赋予更多的权利处理文本。因此,该理论尤其适用于对外宣传资料这种有明确目的...
