中英委婉语跨文化对比分析

　　纵览国内外委婉语的研究历史,中外语言学家主要从修辞、社会、语用、心理等不同角度对委婉语进行分析研究,且大多数研究均着重于某一特定的语言,从跨文化角度进行的对比研究则相对不足。同时,综观国内外对委婉语的研究,不难发现,委婉语的翻译研究这一领域,鲜有人问津。有鉴于此,本文尝试从跨文化层面对英汉委婉语进行系统的对比研究,并结合翻译理论的知识探讨委婉语的翻译问题。 本文首先回顾了国内外委婉语的研究历史及现状,并介绍了委婉语的定义,分类；然后从其语言特征对中英委婉语的构成方式(如语音、词汇和修辞)和生成原则(距离原则、关系原则和礼貌原则)及发展规律进行了对比分析；接着讨论了委婉语的交际功能,并从宗教、社会价值观等方面,用具体典型事例对中英委婉语的文化特色做出了系统性的对比分析；同时,在上述对比分析的基础上,就委婉语翻译中出现的难点,提出了相应的翻译策略。最后,文章阐述了中英委婉语的跨文化对比对跨文化交际和外语教学的启示。 本研究的成果可以浓缩为以下三点：1)委婉语是一种基于社会交际的语言现象。中英委婉语的构成有诸多相似之处,它们都遵循一定的生成原则,即距离原则、关系原则、礼貌原则。2)委婉语是一...
