【摘要】： 记者招待会口译由于其外交及政治等特性,应理解为一种有明确目的导向的跨文化交际行为。本文以记者招待会口译为研究对象,从分析此类口译全过程的涉及者这一新视角入手,采用解释性和实证研究方法来论证功能翻译理论和释意理论对其的适用性和指导意义。 本文首先详细介绍了功能翻译理论,释意理论和记者招待会口译;接着在分析口译全过程涉及者的基础上,提出:此类口译过程不但包括译员、会议发言者(原语产生者)和听众(译语接受者),还存在一个特殊的成员——口译过程的发起者,一般为政府机构或国家。译员作为贯穿始末的因素,在会议之前就从发起者处得到“翻译要求”,之后始终以此要求为口译基调,为文化背景不同的发言者和听众做出口译行为。 研究发现:功能翻译理论的目的论很好地解释了译员与口译过程发起者的关系——译员在口译过程中必须以翻译要求为导向,来实现发起者所要求达到的交际目的,表现为译文的政治性导向等特质。但译员并不完全被翻译要求所束缚。在口译过程中,译员需要根据发言人和听众的文化差异等情况,对具体的口译策略、技巧等细节做出其认为合适的选择,而释意理论则能对译员与这两者的关系做出合理的解释。
