[Abstract]:The term "diamond" began in the middle of Qing Dynasty, not in the end of Qing Dynasty. The term "arch stone" is called "Xuan Shi", or "diamond" in Minnan language. " As a word in Minnan dialect, "arch stone" still has vitality in the Chinese media of Southeast Asia today, while the "arch" of diamond meaning in mainland China has become "dead word", and the frequency of "arch stone" in "declaration" (Shanghai edition) shows. In the competition of Northern Mandarin, the main language of newspaper, Arch Stone has a weak vitality in the large number of corpus. Exploring the evolution of appellations of names and objects is of great benefit to the understanding of the spread of language, the reception psychology in the process of communication and the drawing of language atlases.
